getting frustrated. It is our 4th dog (Carolina male 4 mo. old) picked him up two days ago from a breeder. He won't play, crawl up on us, and is very skiddish. Sometime will come with the turkey treat but won't let us pet him? Weird. Any ideas?

Do you know the breeder ? Sounds like he might not be used to human interaction.

First, it's important to remember that a #1 rule in training is that you can't achieve progress when you're frustrated - so when you start feeling this way, take a break and take a deep breath! It can take a good 2-3 weeks for a new puppy to adjust, so be really patient with this and over time he might come out of his shell! Chances are that as long as you're patient and don't try to rush him, your puppy will become more confident. However, if this is just your puppy's personality, it's important to accept him for who he is, and train and teach him according to his individual personality. Just because a dog is shy doesn't mean they can't be awesome! He may just require a different approach than you're used to :) Congratulations on your new puppy!
