Hi there my name is Natalie I have a 9 week old border collie mix named Jax. I've been having this issue since we got him where he will start whining and then screaming like he's never seen food before when I'm about to feed him. Or when me and my boyfriend are cooking our meals he'll start whining and screaming even if he just ate.... What is the best way to deal with this issue to stop the screaming and prevent bad habits from forming?

Turn every feeding into a training session. Ask Jax to sit and be quiet before feeding. Wait him out if needed and DO NOT feed if he's playing up. If whining/screaming gets him what he wants, he WILL do it every time. Once he susses out, whining/screaming makes the food go away and sitting/staying quiet gets the food, you're on the way. Always be consistent and only ever reward quiet and within days/weeks he'll stop trying it on. Be patient and it will come. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
