I’m training my own PTSD Service Dog. He’s a year old and I will need help in getting him to do a couple of tasks listed by my psychiatrist in her “prescription” of my need of a service dog. I live in New Orleans. Do you know of an organization in this area or who you can suggest nationally forme tocontact to help me complete his education? Thank you.

This should be a required video for everyone. Thank you for taking the time to put this video out. The service dog organization I am involved in estimates the total cost of a graduating service dog at about $50,000.00. The dog is raised by volunteers until they are about 12-14 months then go in for formal guide training . By the time they "graduate" with their new disabled owner there has been extensive training and untold hours of human interaction. One attack by a fake service dog (or other dog) taken into a store where it doesn't belong could ruin the guide dog forever, making him gun shy of other attacks. We all love our dogs but please don't try to cheat the system. You could be be literally destroying someones life.
