“Showtime” progress (Patreon)

I don’t have much to offer this month yet as far as sketches go, so instead of a sketch dump I’ll be sharing some of the progress made on the short so far

few weeks ago I realized about half of the work I had left involved backgrounds and scenery so I spent a week or two knocking a few scenes out

Since this started as my first animated project, I’m accidentally doing a lot of things out of order, but the good news is that I’m constantly learning as I do so

Blender was used to create some of the sets, but I’m finding that a simple approach to backgrounds is actually a lot less distracting and it’s not necessary to make everything look like a full blown illustration

This is something I’ll probably apply further in the next Batcat video

As far as the animation goes, most of it is pretty much done, roughed out and ready for clean up or colors

I have one or two scenes that are going to be particularly tedious but I’ll get them done too eventually
