In the discussion he had with Cody earlier, the talk about homosexuality was pretty theological and academic, which is why dad didn't have an emotional reaction to it. I've known a lot of folks who are okay with the gays in principle and who might even talk in a progressive manner until they're confronted with it directly or in their own lives
