Apologies for the delay in posting this feedback. We've been focussed this month on working on the two battles we have in production right now. But EpicLloyd has now written up feedback for the matchups selected for feedback. Lets see what he thought about some of your ideas (Do remember to vote in the poll that we have just posted up)

Daredevil vs Saul Goodman [submitted by Neo, Violet, Paddy & Charlie Malick]

I have always liked the Daredevil Character. I also think it'd be really cool to bring some attention to the blind community in a cool way and there are a few blind emcee's that I really love. But I personally don't think Saul Goodman is big enough to go up against a Marvel Character. We have obviously already done Walter White so using a spinoff character whose main connection to Daredevil is that he's a lawyer feels a bit thin.

Richard Nixon vs Niccolo Machiavelli [submitted by Mat]

This is pretty cool. We've always wanted to do Nixon and back in the day JFK seemed the easy choice but almost too easy. A lot of people know the term "Machiavellian" but might not know too much about the man himself. A "ends justifies the means" type battle between these politicians feels like a fun mix of well known jokes and deeper historical info that would enjoy. Two unscrupulous characters. A nice mishmash of history.

Jon Snow vs William the Conqueror [submitted by FoxDoc]

I think this is an ok idea but based on the amount of people who had no idea who Richard the Lionheart was, doing another medieval English king soon makes me a little nervous views wise. But William was certainly a significant king and obviously Jon Snow has more pulling power to balance things. The upcoming "House of the Dragon" tv show will probably reignite interest in Game Of Thrones.

Professor X vs Yoda [submitted by Samuel Rogers]

If we ignore the fact we've already done Vader and Boba and Skywalker, I think this has a ton of potential. We'd probably need to mix it in between a few very real historic battles so it wasn't seen as too much of a clickbait match up. I do enjoy both of these characters though and it's a really fun way to bring them both into the ERB world. Funny voices and cool visuals plus with some of the new tricks we have up our sleeves editing wise we could make Yoda look really convincing.

Neil Armstrong vs Amelia Earhart [submitted by MaryTPWK & PrinceKovu]

This matchup has been on the list of good ideas for a while. It's just never pushed its way through the pack. I love featuring a prominent female character from history and everything about the head to head makes sense. Neil Armstrong is, for lack of a better word, kind of a boring personality; but Amelia offsets that is a massive way with how eccentric and outspoken she was which is great. I could see this one finding a home on YouTube one day for sure.

Bilbo Baggins vs Dante Alighieri [submitted by Lemon]

Can't say I'm a fan of this one. Dante has never really interested me (unless it's our own Dante Cimadamore!) Bilbo Baggins on the other hand was the second character I ever played. In a 6th grade play baby! So he holds a special place in my heart. But I think I'd have to insist he faced off against someone folks knew a bit more and cared a bit more about. I'm not convinced that people would want to see Bilbo vs Dante. Sorry.

Tony Stark vs Jack Sparrow [submitted by Nick Z]

Having Tony Stark in a battle is not a Tony Stark battle. It's an Ironman battle. Fight me! I'm not really sure how these two characters are connected but I will say that the match up between the two actors who play these guys is kinda fun. RDJ vs Johnny Depp. Ha! That said, If we're gonna do Ironman I think the match up to go with is fitting him into the Thatcher vs Bismarck one. As far as Jack Sparrow, I think he's cool. It's just hard to find a way to make him significantly different enough from Blackbeard to really give him his own lane. BTW Pete did a Jack Sparrow rap way back in the day with Alex Farnum and it was pretty great.

Here are some extra thoughts from our manager HeadMonk...

From what I've read there is a Jon Snow spin-off tv show in development. The working title  is just "Snow" and its probably years away from coming out. But if it happens I think it increases the chances of us getting Jon Snow in a future ERB. William The Conqueror is certainly a very worthy name. I'm from the UK so the year 1066 was stamped into my brain at school, more than any other year. This is maybe a matchup to revisit in 2024 perhaps.

Out of all the USA Presidents Richard Nixon always felt like he'd a perfect character for ERB. I do think he'll happen one day. Machiavelli was someone I looked into in the past but the actual material about his life didn't thrill me. But its a good solid match-up. Makes sense. Probably the best pairing for Machiavelli for sure.

Neil Armstrong always felt like a great candidate for ERB but Peter and Lloyd both seem to think he isn't very interesting as a person. There's just not a whole lot to diss him about. The "First Man" film didn't help make him more interesting. It's a shame, cos I am personally fascinated by Astronomy. The other issue with this matchup is if we are gonna do a pilot type character I'd be drawn more towards Red Baron or even Maverick after the success of the recent film. I know saying that is probably sacrilege to all the diehard Earhart fans out there. But, I could be persuaded to come around to Armstrong vs Earhart!

A new round of MTB now begins! The theme this time is "Rest Of The World".

ERB is an American series. So, the guys are obviously drawn to characters that are well known in the United States. But we do strive to include characters from around the world. So for this theme this round we are looking specifically for some matchups that don't feature any character either born or created in America.

You can of course always ignore the theme completely if you prefer. But, when selecting the match-ups for feedback we will select 2 or more suggestions that particularly suit the theme.

Same rules apply. Seven match-ups in total will be selected. A maximum of three suggestions per person. You can post them in the comments below, email them to erbpatreon@gmail.com or post them on the ERB Discord server in the dedicated '#make-this-battle' channel.

Deadline for submissions is... 5pm PT on Friday 12th August.

Look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
