ERB NEWS UPDATE - PLEASE READ! (Patreon)

Hellooooooo Patrons! Hope you are all doing well. As it's the start of a new month we just wanted to post up an update to give you all some information on what we have been up to and what our plans are for the rest of 2022. 

So, let's see what news we have for you...

GODZILLA VS KING KONG

For those patrons who are new here, the lyrics for the Godzilla vs King Kong battle are written and the audio is recorded. We are all very, very happy with the way its sounding. We have since spent time working out the direction we want to go with the animation and have spoken to a bunch of different animators. 

The final decision we have made is to create the battle using "Unreal Engine 5" using motion capture technology. Over the last month we have been testing out various software and we've ordered some new gadgets and gizmos which should arrive in LA very soon.

It's possibly the most involved and expensive solution, as we will be developing much of the animation inhouse, but we are very excited about the future potential of this tech. (and your continued subscription to this Patreon has certainly helped towards making it possible - thank you!) 

We now have a model of King Kong that looks great and have been working on potential backgrounds for the character. We are also in the process of sorting a model of Godzilla. It is a time consuming process initially as it's the first time we've ever done anything like this. But, if it is a success there is scope to do all kinds of matchups in the future using this method of motion capture. 

Some characters we may not have previously thought would work in live action or animation, may suddenly be more viable or tempting to do using this method. It's all very fresh and exciting. :)

INDIANA JONES VS LARA CROFT

In recent weeks we've continued to write the Indiana Jones vs Lara Croft battle and have a beat that's perfect for the two characters. Last month we invited Dan Bull to help us further develop the characterisation of Lara Croft, in an attempt to give a more British authenticity to her lyrics and rhyme schemes. It's all coming together well. 

This month we will continue to write and rewrite and will be aiming to get the lyrics finalized and audio recorded so that we can try to schedule a date to film the battle. Peter is going to portray Indiana Jones and we have identified someone (she hasn't appeared in an ERB before) who we want to be Lara Croft. There is also potential for Lloyd to maybe cameo as Nathan Drake but not 100% fully decided on that cameo yet.

[I've actually just received a new demo of the battle whilst I've been writing this update so I'll have that on repeat later tonight. :) 

NEXT BATTLE

On top of those two matchups we still want to produce a further battle in 2022 but the two matchups in production have taken all our focus up to now. We have a bunch of potential ideas floating around and we now want to stop procrastinating over it and try to make a final decision soon on what the next battle should be. 

So, we've decided to do something we have never done before. We are gonna be holding a poll on YouTube in the next week or two. The winner of the match-up vote will be made into a battle! So, that's kind of exciting isn't it! :) 

Over the next week we are going to be deciding which matchups will go on the poll. As we have two fictional based battles in production already, we think this other battle should ideally feature two real life characters. 

If you have thoughts on which real life character matchups should be on the poll then please let us know in the comments below or discuss it over in the #matchup-ideas channel on the discord or post it in the comment section of any of our YouTube videos. We'll be actively reading everything that's posted everywhere over the next week or so. 

DISCORD CHAT SESSION

The next Discord chat session with Peter/Lloyd is going to occur on Tuesday 12th July at 1.30pm PT [Los Angeles]. The session will last about an hour and will take place in the #concepts-and-spoilers channel on the ERB Discord server. We will post a reminder about it nearer the time and also post up a full recap on this Patreon page for those of you who can't attend live.

ERB QUIZ NEWS

If you won a prize in the last quiz your package has now been dispatched. Apologies for the delay in getting them sent out. Peter was the culprit for the delay. He's since been reprimanded for his lack of speediness! We will have a new quiz coming out some time in the next few weeks with a brand new set of ERB memorabilia up for grabs.
