A few days ago Peter and Lloyd hosted the Patreon first live stream of 2022. If you missed it, there will be more live streams throughout the year and you can now watch a full replay of the live stream by going to the following link. It was a long one at nearly 90 minutes.

For those with no spare time I also wanted to attempt to post a quick recap of what was discussed. But I would recommend you watch the replay as it was a lot of fun.

As it was St Patricks Day, Peter briefly discussed the period in his childhood where he performed Irish Dancing. He also brought up a few potential Irish characters for the future. Oscar Wilde and St Patrick were brought up by Peter which are two he personally finds interesting. Whilst Lloyd brought up the Lucky Charms Leprechaun.

The matchup pairing of St Patrick vs St Valentine was mentioned by a few patrons. Peter and Lloyd both liked the basic concept. (75% of patrons polled agreed) Lloyd thought it could be a possible Flash In The Pan type battle, rather than a full ERB. It's an idea we will think about again and perhaps consider for a future year.

Peter moved on to discuss the long term matchup suggestion of Indiana Jones vs Lara Croft. The guys wrote and recorded a demo for the characters back in Feb/March 2020 just as the pandemic hit the world, and the matchup then got side-lined. Peter said he had gone back to listen to the old demo and he had really liked it more than he remembered.

The main problem the guys have previously had with the matchup is the type of fairly complicated special effects / visuals a matchup like that might need, and whether they could do it justice. They discussed with the patrons various ideas for potential iconic background settings for the characters. Peter is interested in doing this battle this year.

Lloyd brought up Tom Brady vs Maradona, and the fact that Brady has recently un-retired himself and will be back playing again in the NFL in 2022/23 season. They discussed with the patrons whether it was more timely to do it soon, or "kick the can down the road". No firm decision was made in the stream but the guys will think on it more.

Lloyd brought up the ERB TikTok which we are interested in putting out more video clips on this year. Patrons suggested a bunch of potential ideas including: best finishers, best dick jokes, best cameos, best flows. Our TikTok handle is @erbofhistory - please add us.

Peter mentioned that he is exploring the idea of making more audio beats inhouse. He said he had been working on Fruity Loops and the process is becoming easier to understand. We have also bought a number of other tracks off other beat producers, for future use.

The guys then invited a patron to join them on camera. A patron with the name "Rook" joined and talked about his ambitions to be a film director one day. He said he has two YouTube channels called The Rookie Critic and The Fandom Collective and he has actually put together a video about ERB which you can check out:

Rook suggested that the guys should do more live streams on the ERB YouTube channels. Both Peter and Lloyd were happy to consider doing some this year. He also suggested we should consider a YouTuber called Melonie Mac for the role of Lara Croft.

Lloyd then answered a few patron questions. A patron called "Jigsaw" asked whether he a guilty pleasure matchup idea that you don't think will ever happen. Lloyd said "Conan O'Brien vs Conan The Barbarian". Patron "MC Fawful" asked with previous battles were the most expensive to make. Lloyd thought it might be Ivan The Terrible or Ghostbusters.

Peter then brought up a brand new matchup idea that we have internally have been discussing in recent weeks - Harley Quinn vs Florence Nightingale. Lloyd said after he heard the matchup, he can no longer imagine a better matchup for either character.

The "Florence Nightingale Effect" is a term coined to describe someone who falls in love for the person they are caring for. Harley was a psychiatrist at the Arkham Asylum and she fell in love with The Joker who she was treating. Florence treated the sick and injured who deserved better care, whilst Harley was drawn to care for Gotham's misfits who didn't deserve it.

Florence and Harley can also be considered feminist icons of their time, but with very different sets of beliefs. Florence had steadfast Victorian values and was often critical of women's rights activists - it is said she preferred the company of powerful men. Whilst Harley has become very much a feminist icon, that teams up with other women and celebrates the freedom of choice - she's a very relatable, modern day character.

These are two women who most certainly would not get along well - the lady with the lamp, versus the lady with the mallet. We are gonna discuss the idea more and consider it for the future.

We then invited a patron called 'Braden' to join them on camera. He suggested a bunch of matchup ideas including "Sonic The Hedgehog vs The Flash" and "William Afton vs Nolan Bushnell vs Robert L. Brock" and "Markiplier vs Jacksepticeye vs PewDiePie".

Peter and Lloyd then answering a few random questions and discussed the Godzilla vs King Kong battle that they continue to write. Whilst it will be a animated battle, Peter wants to explore the idea of using rubber / fur suits for a portion of the video.

The guys then thanked everyone for joining the stream and signed out.

Note: After the stream ended we decided that we will be reopening the writing room for Indiana Jones vs Lara Croft as it is a battle we think we may do this year. That writing room will open up on the Discord server later today for patrons to submit lyric suggestions.
