March 2022 Update - For All Patrons (Patreon)

Hello patrons! :o)

Hope you are all doing well. Lloyd is away this week, so Peter and myself (HeadMonk) have been discussing plans for the future and we just wanted to give you all an update on the current state of play with ERB right now. See below...

ERB WRITING

Pete & Lloyd have both continued to concentrate on writing the "Godzilla vs King Kong" battle which we plan to be a future animated ERB video. The writing is moving along nicely and we plan to have the lyrics completed later this month. (For those unaware we have already purchased the audio beat and we have an animator in mind to work on it) 

Once the writing is complete it will then be a case of working on the audio / beat recording before sending it away to the animator. We don't currently have a release date in mind and don't intend to rush the process. It'll be released, as soon as its ready.

We continue to research other characters and discuss other matchups, but are still not 100% sure which matchup we will start focusing on next after Godzilla vs Kong. The likes of Karl Marx vs Henry Ford and Taylor Swift vs Johnny Cash remain strong possibilities. But we have a number of others floating around too - two of which we will probably discuss with you in the next video live stream. One is a matchup we've discussed at length last year  and one is a brand new idea that we have not discussed with you at all. But, let's wait until the live stream to talk about them :) Always nice to have some surprises.

In terms of the year ahead we are hoping to be able to release 3 or 4 battles in 2022. That's the plan right now. We know many of you would like to see more videos. But, its all about managing both the workload and the financial side of things too, whilst allowing Peter the family time he needs. Each video costs tens of thousands of dollars and we do want each one to be as good as it possibly can be. The YouTube platform isn't the same beast it once was, but your continued support on this Patreon will hopefully help us continue to release battles in 2022, 2023 and beyond.

BEATS PURCHASED

Last week we went ahead and purchased four new audio beats which we heard and loved. We don't usually buy beats without a specific matchup in mind. But we've spent many, many hours in February listening to beats from various producers and the beats we've purchased all excited us. It'll be nice to have them ready to go in the future. Peter has also been learning new production software to enable us to better customize beats to particular characters, much like you heard in the "Rambo vs Wick vs McClane" battle.

ST PATRICKS DAY VIDEO LIVE STREAM

Throughout 2022 Pete and Lloyd will be hosting at least six video live streams. We can now announce the first one of the year will be on Thursday 17th March at 1.30pm PT {Los Angeles] which coincidently is St Patricks Day. We hope you all can join us for a drink and/or a chat. :) Our live streams are open to all patrons. They will last about one hour. We'll post up a link to the video stream on this Patreon page about 30 mins before it begins. If you can't tune in live you'll be able to watch a full video replay.

APRIL DISCORD CHAT SESSION

Peter & Lloyd are gonna be hosting a chat session in the Discord server in early-mid April. No date is set yet. It'll just depend how things shake out workwise in the next few weeks. We'll try to give you all at least one weeks notice before it happens. So, keep your eyes peeled for that. WRITING ROOMS

Currently on the Discord Server we have two writing rooms open for two battles that we are considering for the future - "Karl Marx vs Henry Ford" and "Diego Maradona vs Tom Brady". Both those rooms will be closing for submissions on Monday March 14th. So if you want to submit lyric submissions to either please do so this week. A brand new writing room will open later this month.

Q&A VIDEO

Earlier in the year we asked patrons to submit questions and matchup ideas via short video messages. Pete began the process of compiling video answers but it was taking a long time to sort out. Peter asked me to apologise on his behalf for the delay. He'll try to get them sorted at some point, but for the time being writing has to take priority.

NEW QUIZ & PRIZES

Before the end of March we will have a new multiple choice quiz for you all. We've recently been moving a lot of the old memorabilia from a storage unit, so I've asked Peter to go through the stuff this week and pick out some gems for prizes. :)

DUBAI PODCAST INTERVIEW

Pete is recording an interview today with a podcast that is based over in Dubai. The producer of the show saw Peter perform solo many years ago in the UK. We aren't sure when they'll air the interview for the public, but we'll let you know as soon as we know.

MAKETHISBATTLE

Seven matchups have been chosen for the latest round of #MakeThisBattle and we will be able to post up the feedback and a poll of the options later this week.

DIRECTOR PACKAGES

In the last few weeks we have dispatched packages in the post containing gifts to those Director tier patrons who were due to receive them. Please note - this was the final package you will receive as that benefit has now been retired, due to us moving to a single $5 tier Patreon. We'd like to offer a huge thanks to all previous Director patrons for that level of support and we hope you enjoy the merch items we have sent you.

We would like to remind you all that at the start of 2022 we moved to a single $5 tier setup here on Patreon. The aim was to streamline the benefits and make it cheaper for everyone to support us. Some of you have still not switched to the new tier which is called "Crew 2022", so please do so soon, to save yourself some money. Please note: from Monday 14th March the ERB Discord server will only be accessible for patrons on the new tier. Any one still on the old tiers will lose their access.
