A message to all Patrons - Please Read! (Patreon)

Good morning / afternoon / evening to you all - which ever time zone you may be in!

In 2018 when ERB became fully independent from Disney, we didn't have a grand plan. We wanted to make more rap battles. We wanted to build on the legacy of Seasons 1-5 and we wanted to have some fun doing it. 

Most YouTube creators will tell you that the pressure of trying to constantly create great content can be rather debilitating over time. The highs can be very high, but the lows can quickly eat away at your mojo. It's all about finding balance and trying to think positive.

Each of our videos now cost tens of thousands of dollars to produce and we can spend months toiling over them. But, we never really know how YouTube will react to them. The algorithms have very little regard for the actual amount of effort you pour in. 

Sometimes a video will soar out of the park. Sometimes a video will be suppressed so a limited amount of people see it. And sometimes a video can end up being demonetised. Those m***********s at YouTube don't like excessive swearing for some reason. :op

PATREON

So, the ERB Patreon was formed back in 2019 to try to bridge that gap between uncertainty and security. A safety net for the future of the series and at the same time it would act as a little private club for anyone out there who likes what we do.

We know the last two years has been tough for everyone. Covid has affected us all in many different ways. For ERB it has affected our day to day plans, our ability to meet up in person and our ability to create new battles. But, in a way it's still been an important time. 

One thing we learnt from this whole period was that we have actually enjoyed being able to invest even more time into each video. The lyric writing has been done at a slower pace with much more rewriting. We've also been able to spend much longer on recording the audio tracks and the whole video editing process too.

And we are proud of the videos we have managed to make during Covid - Trump vs Biden, Potter vs Skywalker and Ragnar vs Richard - and we are super excited about the two battles coming out before Xmas! [If you're unaware - one new battle is dropping tomorrow, the other battle will drop in December sometime]

CHANGES

So, you're probably sat there wondering... why am I telling you all this? Well, we have wanted to make some tweaks to the ERB Patreon for a while now. But, we were waiting for a good time to set those wheels in motion.

Last week a company got in touch with us about sponsoring a future battle. Very quickly that developed into them agreeing to partner with us on the battle that's being released tomorrow. It's been a smooth and easy link up and we think their product is solid.

So, due to that all happening we have decided that all current patrons will not be charged for the ERB Patreon for the month of December. Consider it a small thank you for your support and commitment over the last few years. [You don't need to do anything. Your payment card just won't be charged on Dec 1st]

In December we will then be making a few changes to the current Patron tiers and benefits. Hopefully you'll want to stick around and support us throughout 2022 and beyond. So look out for that news. [We will announce those changes sometime around mid-December] 

TOMORROW

Tomorrow we will release the brand new ERB video. The match-up is Jeff Bezos vs Mansa Musa. We have Scru Face Jean as a guest rapper in this one who was awesome to work with - and we really hope you all love the battle.

Bezos and Musa may have or had all the money in the world, but they definitely don't have fans as good as you folk. Thank you for being with us through thick and thin.
