Hola all you fine Writers & Directors! Yesterday Peter and Lloyd dropped into the ERB Discord server for this months scheduled Discord chat session. Here is a recap of what was discussed...

Lloyd started by saying there was good news and bad news. The bad news was that he "only" had four exclusive photos to share from the recent ERB video shoot. The good news was that they were mainly of him!

He then shared the first photo which was Lloyd as John McClane...

And yes Lloyd's feet are generally that dirty. That isn't for effect. ;)

Lloyd said "if I learned one thing from this battles it's that I'm very short". And also stated "we legit had the dream team on set this go-round. They made us look so dope".

Lloyd moved on to ask if the patrons could help talk Pete into finishing the Artists vs TMNT Tik Tok gauntlet? [If you're unware the Artists vs TMNT battle from 2014 had blown up on TikTok this month with huge numbers of people miming away to the track including Lloyd and Rhett & Link. Search for artistsvstmnt on Tiktok to see all the user videos]

Peter isn't on TikTok. Lloyd has an account - @theepiclloyd - and ERB have had a handle on the platform for a while but we have yet to use it. But, Lloyd is trying to persuade Pete to film a video anyway. Hopefully Peter will agree to do it. Fingers crossed.

Lloyd moved on to say he wanted to discuss a few potential future matchups. The first one was "Karl Marx vs Henry Ford". Peter said he liked it too and the general consensus from the patrons was very positive. Peter wondered if other capitalists could be brought in to make it a larger battle, but that idea received a less favourable response.

One alternative idea of Karl Marx vs Robin Hood was brought up. Peter said "Marx vs Hood tickles my ivories" even though deep down he doesn't like the idea of Robin Hood in ERB. Lloyd said that the match-up sounded "way more fun to me for sure". But Peter argued that "I do like Ford vs Marx, it's worth pursuing".

Lloyd then dropped the second of the photos from the recent shoot - this time it was Zach Sherwin portraying John Wick. Doesn't he look great!?

Lloyd recalled that at the shoot "I left the room and Zach was on camera rapping. I came back in like 15 minutes later and he and Pete had flushed out the little Keane-esque head bob movement and acting tics and it was another level".

We then went on to discuss another match-up idea. This time... "Kratos vs George S. Patton" which features two characters that we are interested in, but in a match-up that we are still not 100% sold on. Patrons offered a mixed response. Some people loved it. Other didn't. Overall Lloyd remains unconvinced about the pairing. [I personally think its a sold history vs fiction pairing and a good way to use the two characters, who are both very worthy of an ERB, but who may never happen unless an appropriate opponent is found]

Lloyd then stated the lyric "Jeff Bezos, bald God you can call me Jeff Kratos" nearly made it into the upcoming battle between Bezos and Musa.

Lloyd then offered up a third matchup idea... Ibn Battuta vs Marco Polo ft. Leif Erikson. A battle featuring three historical explorer types. This idea didn't resonate with many of the patrons in attendance, even though these are all characters worthy of recognition. Without explorers like these some civilizations and rulers of the world would never have come about.

Peter interjected at this point as he wanted to discuss again the idea of Dolly Parton vs Taylor Swift (a match-up that has been discussed at length in the past). There was almost universal negativity to the idea, largely because patrons feel its impossible to diss Parton because she's so nice. But, Pete obviously likes the match-up still and Lloyd rallied hard that he thought it could work really well too.

[Short intermission from your host HeadMonk. I still can't stand that matchup. I can't get past the feeling that Taylor Swift's life story is not yet done, we've covered numerous modern pop singers before, her attempt to ridicule the tv show Ginny and Georgia was misplaced and she'd probably throw a real fit at an ERB and we have so, so many musical icons on the table who are equally or more deserving. Featuring Taylor in an ERB doesn't exactly need to be done... swiftly!]

But moving quickly along... Lloyd dropped a third photo from the recent shoot...

Now that's one darn fine bazooka! And the rocket launcher ain't bad too. :)

Other music based match-ups were discussed including "Bowie vs Prince" and "Hendrix vs Cobain" which have been two long standing requests from ERB fans over the years. Those matchups received mostly positive responses from patrons.

And Lloyd then added a fourth and final photo from the recent shoot...

Wick & McClane. Tall man. Short man. They will go to battle in December!!

Lloyd didn't share any images of John Rambo as we are kinda keen to save some surprise.

We then took a few quick questions before ending the chat session...

SamWise asked... "Do we have an update on Bezos Musa release date?"

Lloyd: We are still gunnin' for November. But no exact date chosen yet.

MarblePipes asked... "Any updates on kongzilla?"

Lloyd: King Kong vs Godzilla is on pause whilst we work on the last two battles. That said, I really love it and won't let it go. We also have a really strong demo.

Tuff asked... "Did the Alec Baldwin situation make shooting the John versus John Battle more difficult?"

Lloyd: Absolutely, but our crew are all pros and took safety very serious and it went fine.

On that note the chat session ended. Thank you to everyone who attended especially Glen who was an amazingly funny, joke riddled, bundle of fun, or so he tells me anyway. :p

REMINDER! This months live stream is earlier than usual. It takes place on Friday 19th November at 2.30pm PT. A link to the stream will be posted here on Patreon about ten minutes before the stream starts.
