In the mean time EpicLLOYD has jumped into the hot seat this week to offer up feedback on the latest submissions in the #makethisbattle process. So, lets see what Lloyd thought about some of your match up ideas... 

Tintin vs Spider-Man [submitted by BTTF]

I love Spider-Man, but I just don't feel that Tintin is a classic enough match up for him. As a huge Spider-Man fan, I'd be a bit disappointed if this was the character we chose to put against him. Tintin just pales in comparison in my opinion. Tarzan crops up a lot in the suggestions for Spider-Man - the king of the swingers. Harry Potter maybe? Must be a decent amount of options out there for a Spidey matchup.

Oscar Wilde vs David Bowie [submitted by AlanCGordon]

I love both of these characters and think they both deserve a place in ERB. Not sure I would put them together as the match up doesn't quite make perfect sense to me. They are flamboyant individuals though. Could imagine it being fun. But, I have always liked David Bowie vs Prince. That just seems like a winner to me.

Coco Chanel vs Madonna [submitted by NP]

This is very cool. At first I thought we had a similar situation as Spider-Man vs Tintin but after some research on Coco, I think this is killer! Exciting, colorful, strong characters with very different backgrounds. A good combination of someone everyone knows and someone people have heard of but would enjoy learning more about.

King Tut vs Queen Elizabeth II [submitted by Captain Warrior & Dylan]

This is interesting. I like how it's one person who has been on the throne for an extremely long time and into an old age and one person who was a child during their rule and died very young. Long reign vs short reign. I could picture seeing the Queen just getting older and older and going through time and King Tut just staying the same age.  Maybe his verses could be really short ;)

James Dean vs Han Solo [submitted by Neo! Ice Cold Whine]

I like James Dean in the context of people who died before their time. He's super dreamy and a lady's man which works for the Han Solo match up. Also, one of his most famous movies was about him speed racing and that works for the match up. Solo is a must for an ERB one of these days so that fits. I'm just not sold that this is the right opponent for Solo.  From a business angle a Solo battle has the potential to crush on views but James Dean being so old school hurts the curb appeal. If and when it's time to do Solo, my vote would be to make it the biggest block buster type match-up possible. 

Richard The Lionheart vs Lawrence of Arabia [submitted by SwanSchlong]

It's ok. But doesn't give me the chills. Maybe cos both are older characters. Maybe cos I just don't know too much about Lawrence. I'd need to do some research. But, on face value it just feels like it might be hard to make that battle or the characters funny enough. Perhaps we would have to give Richard Lionheart an over the top persona like a Monty Python sketch.

Shaggy & Scooby Doo vs Rick & Morty [submitted by TMarr]

Yeah, this works well. Very funny and bright characters all who are recognisable. Blast from the past matched with a current big favorite. Good voices and memorable references from both sides. I like it a lot.

The theme for the next round is "I'll Be Back" - one of your three suggestions can be a match-up featuring two characters from previous ERB videos. I don't want direct sequel ideas. I am looking for characters that were not paired together in Seasons 1-6. 

At least two of the match-ups selected for feedback will be based on that theme. You can post your three ideas in the Discord channel #make-this-battle, you can email them to erbpatreon@gmail.com or you can post them in the comments below.
