Happy Fall, Patrons!

NOTE: I first uploaded zip files containing many 1/2 size versions of the modern map variations (70 px grid instead of 140 px). If you downloaded your pack right after it was posted you can re-download your zip files now. So sorry!

A grocery store may seem mundane, but they can quickly turn into scenes of high action when life takes a turn.

This month's Modern variations depict a mid-sized store with three checkout counters, a prepared food area, a full bakery/kitchen with a café.

As often happens, I got a history lesson doing the research for the Vintage (1920/30s) variations. Wikipedia tells me that the first self-service grocery store was a Piggly Wiggly that opened in 1916. My map represents an urban store set up in a warehouse. I used this image of a Safeway in 1926 as my main reference:

In the ‘Trouble’ variations something has gone wrong, or is currently going wrong.

And ‘Abandoned’ grocery stores may contain enough food to keep desperate survivors going for another day. Or, maybe the place is haunted by the spirit of that butcher who went berserk and killed his co-workers?

Cheers!
