Map Pack #31: Gymnasium (Patreon)

Good Day, Creative Patrons,

This map could be the third piece of the Sourmount High maps, if you so desire.

I’m a big basketball fan, and have been since I was a kid. But, this gym is not just for basketball, it’s for deadly games of dodgeball (and all the other humiliations that go with gym class); it’s for terrifying exams and championship celebrations; it’s also a good place to hide from the zombie hordes, or even to use as a hideout in the dark years after the collapse of civilization.

I struggled to find images of basketball hoop apparatus that would work for the ‘Vintage’ variations. Most hang from the ceiling, but I don’t find that very satisfying for a battlemap, where there is no ceiling depicted. Finally, I found this image from a 1928 Naval Academy basketball game. I used those weird structures as the basis for the hoops in my map.

Again, I put together a ‘Guide’ image, mostly because I wasn’t sure the trophy cases in the ‘hall of fame’ were clear enough.
