>first two pics

Life on the Frontier is short and full of dangers for those who venture deep inside the derelicts.

The darkness is ravenous and the horrors that lurks in the hull bowels, terrifying.

Those things put a toll on the mind of the more stalwart scavengers and over time, helped birth little rituals boarding parties respect religiously, finding comfort in them.

It is common practice to give an "offering" to the derelict, be it little trinkets or food for "the lost", scavengers that went missing during previous expeditions into the ship.

Novices tend to laugh at such ridiculous superstitions but tend to quickly join the vets in their practices after their first expeditions (if they survive).

member the little trinkets peeps wear in the scavengers doodles? well they're not exactly shiny jewelry.

They're in fact hollow little cylinders.

Inside those, scavengers put their "contracts". Be it debts they're bound to honor to their clan leaders or marital promises.

The whole culture on the Frontier revolve around those sealed cartridges.

If the rope break, you're free from the debt you're bound to.

As such, peeps will place the trinkets at different place depending on the value they hold them in.

For exemple, an macro expedition guard will have their pledge to protect her bf close to her heart, meaning that if the rope was to ever break, it would mean she'll be dead (laser cutter cutting through the rope AND the heart behind)

on the opposite, a veteran pledge to protect a despicable team leader and wearing the contract on his shield would means tons.

(do note that this tradition is so strongly bound to the local culture through centuries that cutting the rope yourself would be an absolute dishonor. locals just tend to "force fate" depending on where they attach their contracts.)

ANYWAY, sorry for the shitty english peeps, i'm no writter lol. (if some of you can help me refolmulate stuff that makes no sense, I'll be very grateful)

It'll be less obvious in the comics hopefully.

No worries, I'll be back at more fun doodles, I just love concept shit
