Review of 1962's "Jack The Giant Killer", a movie that shows what happens when you make a Ray Harryhausen movie without Ray Harryhausen!

Love the work you are doing Brandon! Your love of Ray Harryhausen has always been clear and I'm sorry I made you watch that Russian version of Jason and the Argonauts. I do really enjoy your last three videos where you followed connections. Thief of Bagdad lead into the Voyage of Sinbad and Harryhausen which led to Jack the Giant Killer. Keep up the great work!

I recently watched both Jack The Giant Killer and The 7th Voyage of Sinbad the other day. It was my first time watching 7th Voyage, whereas i have watched JTGK multiple times before. Me personally, I prefer JTGK over 7th Voyage. I find the European settlings in JTGK more interesting than the generic "Arabian/Fantasy" lands in 7th Voyage. Yes, the stop motion monsters are better constructed and animated in 7th Voyage, but watching JTGK as a child, it never bothered me how silly the monsters looked or animated. I found Jack more interesting as a character than Sinbad. Yes, the princess in JTGK is a little goofy, but I thought there was no personality to the princess in 7th Voyage. The Villain in 7th Voyage was boring to me as well, whereas Pendragon was at least campy fun. I can at least point out some of the supporting characters in JTGK, i couldnt name any supporting characters in 7th Voyage. Nobody was memorable to me. Goes to show, everything has its fans.
