The driver-ed line is in reference to the overtly gory short films shown to students in drivers-ed course to scare them into driving safely. These were standard practice in the US, perhaps not in Canada. Some of the more noteworthy titles include “Blood on the Asphalt” and “Danger at 65mph”.
