The way the president was hitting jingook while he was apologizing was very condescending. The dad saw that and couldn’t handle seeing his son being treated that way so when the president mentioned that jingook was his adopted son, he couldnt handle it and came out with the truth so he could finally do his fatherly duty in protecting his son.

Also, it is kinda realistic how the people reacted when they saw baekhee. A lot of the times they’re blamed for what happened. Not everyone in the world is an empathetic person and it isn’t uncommon for people to treat sa victims like that. It’s unfortunate but not a shock either.
