Happy Halloween!

I hope you’re having a very spooky time!

October is one of my favorite months of the year- It also happens to be the busiest month of the year! So, I thought I’d give y’all a quick rundown of some of the fun spooky things that’ve kept me busy this month!

The Dead

Today, I launched my 11th podcast!  Over the last several months I’ve been working closely with The George A. Romero Foundation to create this new podcast, The Dead!

This show will be broken up into 8 mini seasons, each with four episode arcs written by incredible writers. This has been such an incredible passion project to work on, and I’m ecstatic to share the first episode with everyone today!

You can subscribe to The Dead on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts! You can find all the links on our website!

31 Days of Creepy

By the the biggest project every year, and one of my all time favorites! Every year I edit (most) of these stories. It’s always a challenge, but it’s incredibly rewarding!

This year, in additional to the usual 64 stories (two stories per episode, 32 episodes- despite what the title says) the Creepy crew visit a haunted house to record some extra spooky stories- Except it seems that spending a month in a haunted house has adverse side effects. Who coulda guessed?

Each of our Sunday episodes have a little wrap around story that stretches throughout the month. Similar to the Camp Creepaway arc we ran earlier this year! These plots are always my favorite Creepy stories to edit. It’s a great glimpse into the mind of Jon Grilz.

Don’t Play This Game

I’m a really big fan of Parable Games’ TTRPG, “Shiver.” So when I heard they were launching a kickstarter for their newest TTRPG, “Don’t Play This Game,” I knew I had to do something exciting! So, we teamed up to make not one, but two special episodes!

The first aired on Mayfair Watchers Society  at the beginning of this month, and the second aired here on SCP Archives just last week!

This was a super fun collaboration, and there’s still two days left in the Kickstarter campaign, so if you enjoy TTRPGs, journaling, found footage and something called “The Entity” make sure you check it out on Kickstarter!

Mayfair Watchers Society

We’re hard at work on the second season of Mayfair Watchers Society. Right now, we have about 12/24 scripts written. Kale, Trevor and I have been going through the scripts and editing them, weaving threads between them, and generally just enjoying all the love and hard work our writers have put in!

Season Two is still a couple of months out, but while you wait the team has prepared a couple of minisodes for you! The first of those came out today, it’s called Burger Boys, and it’s a training video for everyone’s favorite fast food joint!

Do you have what it takes to be a Burger Star?

Class of ‘76

You probably already know about this one, but I’m still incredibly proud of this series! There’s plenty of twists and turns ahead of you…

New episode this Thursday!

RetroSupplyCo’s FrightFall

This one gets a special honorary mention (I buy a lot of RetroSupplyCo’s digital brushes).

As if the month wasn’t busy enough, I bet my friend a hundred bucks we couldn’t do RetroSupplyCo’s October art challenge. That’s right, another 31 days of art! (As of writing, I‘m still working on Day #31’s prompt, so maybe this all falls apart in the next couple hours…)

Last year I fell off after only a couple of days, so this year I pushed through and so far, it’s going pretty well! There’s some pieces I like more than others, but I forced myself to do a lot of experimentation, and LOTS of practice.

My biggest goal was to get more comfortable with digital illustration- and to that end, I’d say it was pretty successful. Plus I drew a rad skull.

You can see all of my art over on my personal Instagram!

What’s Next?!

Some rest! Gonna wrap up some stuff in the next few weeks, then I’m thinking of taking some time off in November to sleep, replay Alan Wake II, and do a lot of reading!

But I wanna know about your favorites parts of Halloween! What spooky things did you get up to this month?!

That's a pretty cool skull. I didn't read this until now. I didn't know you drew it. You did a great job on it.
