Long time no see! (joking, if you didn't get the chance to read yesterday's status update feel free to do so as this is going to be a short one :))

So, although it's unusual for me to make a status update after just one day, maybe it is a good thing to keep you in touch with the development of the game as often as possible. Ideally, I'd even try to have 2 releases a month instead of just one by going back to the testing builds strategy, but I'm not sure I can handle it right now because I also have to pace out public builds and posting them to different websites.

Anyway, yesterday I've mentioned that I'm not sure how I'm going to go about this month's update in order to make sure that not everything depends on the upcoming combat system in regards to NSFW content because I'm afraid I created a bit of a mess since I went from having no combat system to having a combat system in less than 4 days with a codebase that's definitely not small, so I have to take a step back and see what I can do to modularize every part of the combat system and make sure it'll be fine.

So, this is what I'm going to do specifically in this order:

  • I'm going to add the two new maps first, the forest near the ship and the beach. Below you can see that I'm already working on the forest map in Unity.

  • I'm going to work on the content flow, meaning the plot around finding the 2 missing crewmates (Alberto and Ted) and subduing one of them, then bringing them both back to the ship for Morris to find out what's going on with them.
  • I'm working on the final version of the dialogue avatar artstyle for Morris, Ted because they're going to get spacesuits and other new clothes. (you can see Alberto's old version and new version in the image attached to this post)
  • I'm going to work on at least 2 new NSFW CGs, based on how it'll go with the combat system.

So the above are my priorities and they've been picked based on their order of difficulty and importance. We definitely need the two new maps in, we definitely need the "content flow" to continue in order to not spend too much time without advancing the story, and more importantly we need CGs (art).

Shortly, in one of the first mass-effect like missions on the planet, you will encounter a new biome where the planet's affliction seems to be most concentrated. (below is a small preview of what it can look like)

In this biome, I'd like to have an encounter of sorts with Kalyskah, the main character of a game called... Kalyskah, which can be found here https://www.kalyskah.com/ , made by a very good friend of mine, a fellow NSFW game dev!😄

I'm not yet sure about all the details here, but Kalyskah has the ability to cross over into different universes, which might work like the portal storyline in Witcher 3 🤔, and maybe she can assist our character with a situation in this strange new biome.

So, this is all I can mention for now! Thanks for reading this and I hope I'll get back to posting more frequent status updates, but not that many that you wouldn't be able to keep up with them, two times a week sounds right to me.
