I cannot imagine the emotional whiplash I would have experiened watching this as it aired, thinking Asa hadn't made it and then she did. I would have thrown hands at something probably

To your question after ep 7: I was sure, that it will be all 7 from the beginning. But if I HAD TO cut it down to 5 members, my prediction at this point (ep 7) was: At least one of every country: Korean: Aheyon because power, vocal range and leader qualities Thai: Chiquita because emotional vocals, "meme factor" and "next lisa" Japanese: Ruka because rapper, "most YG" and 4D personality Forth would have been Rora (emotions) or Haram (high notes) Fifth would have been Asa (2nd rapper) or Pharita (clear vocals) "Most likely" for me was Aheyon, Chiquita, Ruka, Rora and Asa In theory a "5-member-vocal" group (as Babymonster) and a "2-member-rap" duo (Ruka, Asa) would've been also sense as far as music concept goes, but I couldn't imagine Babymonster starting without rap line and without japanese member. EDIT: another argument could've been: Give the two youngest (Chiquita, Rora) more time and avoid the controversy because of their age, but that seemed highly unlikely to me since they hyped Chiquita so much as "the next global idol" and "next Lisa"

Their debut is set to september, we don't know the day but the month was announced some time ago, let's see if YGe keeps their word.

For my answer your question, it's so many hard to choose 5 of 7 girl in evaluation. If i must choose 5 girl are Aheyon (All-rouder Leader), Pharita (Her Vocal so beautiful), Haram (Vocal range so quality and gorgeous), Asa (Her rap is the best and my bias since her vdo annoucement) and last one is Chiqita (Maknae on top and her skill and talent improving fast). BUT in my opinion, i think YG can't be debut with 5 member because them open all skill and talent's trainee them have so trainees who are not selected may be contacted by other agency to debut. (*in the worst case) ps. in my concern for 7 member group, i hope YG could be divind the part to come out the best and no one dropped or can't be notice. Now and then i can't waiting Babymonster will debut on Sep or Oct coming.
