Super fun episode with amazing performances so far. I honestly just continue to be impressed by the sheer breadth and depth of talent we have in this pool of trainees it's really awesome to see. Even just seeing all of these leadership skills come out in so many of them is amazing. Admittedly though it doesn't make sticking to a solid top 9 any easier but.. we move.

Having now watched the full versions of the performances I think my favorite is a toss up between Zoom & Home. Both teams just really knocked it out of the park for me on those but all of them were amazing (I also may just be biased bc of who all is in each of those teams lmao)

Just you all know, Mnet announced they're putting all the fancams out after the next episode (a day before voting closes). Meaning that we wont get anything from the trainees who didn't perform this episode. It's extremely frustrating.

always lovely to unpack an episode with you on a rewatch kaia!! editing as i watch :) im SO convinced the handprint on yujin's bed IS from one of the girls planet trainees despite the time. i bet since they were using a lot of makeup/skincare with chemicals, if they had that on their hands i can see it discoloring the wood subtly. i hope some detective is able to figure out which gp girls bunked there LOL. my favorite part of the song reveals (before the picking) is that hui is standing between gunwook and gyuvin and just keeps rotating which massive son he's cuddling up to. this show reminded me how cuddly hui is with pentagon who are all closer in age to him, much less with these kids who he's SOOO fond of. // my favorite part of song selection was junhyeon screaming GIVE US GUNWOOK while gunwook was choking trying to hide from hanbin LOL. LOVE KILLA - fave: seo won i LOVE seeing more of jiwoong's personality finally! he's so deceptively cute and SUCH a dorky dad. i'm also glad to see him advocating for himself and wanting more lines! i genuinely enjoyed this team a lot. that said, i agree with the general opinion that gyuvin was good but probably not first place good. mnet did minimize his screentime and it seems like they really downplayed his involvement with the choreo which sucks, but an issue i have with him in general is he doesn't stand out in stages for me much. his most memorable stage moment is still reveal, and sadly i couldn't tell you what parts he sang in any other stage. that said, every thing we see of him as a person endears him to be more and i'm totally fine with him debuting. he brought a whole suitcase full of snacks to the new dorms and tried to make jiwoong watch him open them and it's one of my favorite bonus clips in general. i just like the kid! and poor seo won. i definitely think he did the best and was an absolute slayer, but mnet cut all his screentime and only gave him reaction shots. GGANG - fave: seunghwan ggang team is so endearing. i love a good leftovers team that makes the best out of a bad situation. this is also the first stage where i properly saw and took in seunghwan! he honestly gave me major woodz energy here and i love it. total joker. and junhyeon also killed it! what a comedian. ZOOM - fave: keita zoom team is my team of the episode by far! keita is just... an insane little man. and he knows he to run shit like the military and put on a great show. and the scores between highest and lowest show that! i sincerely hope hyunbeen knows that his score being that high despite being last means he KILLED it. i just keep rewatching this one. KEITA YOU WILL DEBUT. HOME - fave: seungeon i really like this team, and i love the seungeon and jongwoo focus! that said, i felt like it was pretty top heavy and they were the only ones who really stood out tbh. not that anybody did BAD, but it felt like everyone else was just kind of there. even jay, who has that crazy voice, just didn't really suit the song vocally and you could tell he was a bit out of place and knew it. but the chemistry of this team was really sweet :) jongwoo and his baby birds. the thing about him is even if he doesn't make the group, he's an individual trainee. i can totally see a company snatching him up to be their leader/dancer/rapper. i'm really proud of how seungeon powered through that mistake. it's telling how good and professional he already is that everyone came away from that stage like "wow, if it wasn't for that brief mistake at the start it would've been the perfect performance from him". the crack wasn't that bad in the first place, and he made the rest really count. i don't expect him to make the final group sadly, but the guy has a bright future ahead of him. ETC TEAM THOUGHTS - yujin is sooo baby and so cute. seeing him get his confidence back slowly is really nice. it reminds me so much of baby bae jinyoung on broduce :) i still won't vote for him because he's so young and tbh a lot of his insane nuna fans make me worried about him, but i've come to accept he's definitely in the group. that said, i'll kill people for this kid. it also makes me feel better knowing the average age of the group is going to be over 18 based on our current top 20, so he'll have a bunch of hyungs looking out for him. - i think zhang hao should be knighted. that's all. let's steal his passport and knight him. perfect man. + centerz being perfect together - speaking of hao, the hao-gunwook father-son friendship they're developing is KILLING me. they're so perfect and as a gunwook 1pick it makes me want to cry seeing someone actually treat him like his age and watching the viewers come around to gunwook because of hao being so vocal about how sweet and nice and polite gunwook is. GUNWOOK IS JUST A GIANT DOBERMAN PUPPY!!! - UNCENSOR TOMBOY TEAM. UNCENSOR THEM RIGHT NOW!!!!!! LET THEM SAY FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - i don't know what the future holds for hwanhee with up10tion the way it is, but i hope he's able to do SOMETHING. i fell so deeply in love with this guy in the short time i had him on this show, i just want the best for him. - gunwook telling hwanhee he's cried three times for him broke me a little bit ngl. because i'd cued in on both times he cried before this being about other people and not himself, but not that it was specifically about hwanhee. so it happening a third and final time just... was a lot. i hope they keep in contact no matter what happens to them both, CURRENT TOP 9: gunwook // zhang hao, sung hanbin // jiwoong, seungeon, keita, matthew // taerae, gyuvin

i like you‘re top 9, but i would ad hui. It would just feel wrong and weird if he wouldnt make the top 9. but i also kinda want him still in pentagon, so im torn.

I love jongwoo, i doubt he makes it in the top 9, but i can hope lol. I also love lee dong yeol, but they don’t give him any screentime, and he isnt that popular. im sad too know that he is gonna get elimanted 🥲he is in the 50 place. And im sad about hwanhee. I love up10tion, and i hope that maybe just a little more are gonna check out their underated group. Ah, i just love all the guys. Im gonna feel bad for all of them.

I was really looking forward to Limousine and Law based on the previews, but I fear many of them might get eliminated. That's why the fancams would have been helpful to at least show how they did.

with the new songs being shown to us i cant help but wonder what song hui would have given to the trainees if he was a producer like usual instead of a trainee LMAO. anyway my current top 9: 1. hui, 2. haruto, 3. gunwook, 4. sung hanbin, 5. park hanbin, 6. wumuti, 7. matthew, 8. taerae, and for 9. i'm still rotating between seunghwan, kuanjui, and ricky.

the performances this round are so good already, so far my favorites are love killa and zoom, but also home (my boys jay and jongwoo slayed). But yeah just like you mention about the cuts, it really bother me this episode, like I like the reactions, but they cut TOO much I hope that becomes better in the next episodes.

There is a video out on mnet youtube with 30 seconds of each performance we did not see they posted the same day as the episode aired, its not fancams and its not the full song but its also at least something. Highly recommend checking it out if youre the type to want to see it all before voting.

I saw it, but it still think they got robbed because fancams are usually what people watch in order to know how a trainee did. I know my picks are safe since they're pretty high up, but I just feel so bad for the people whose picks might get eliminated because of that.

2023-05-08 01:07:57 omg Jungwoo completely stole my heart! i wasn't that into him in ep 1 and 2, but since then my love for him has been growing more and more! i honestly think he might be my one pick?? the next performance will really solidify that! Home and Zoom were my top 2 performances as well! Zoom was SO FUN especially with that dance break! and Wumutititi will forever be iconic lol i saw some people on reddit being so surprised that Gyuvin got the most points, but to me, he did shine the most! there was something about him this time that really made him stand out to me. however, the performance altogether was slightly lacking. can't put my finger on why.. Seo Won did so well tho! ever since i saw him doing his makeup on NINE.i's YT channel a while back, he became my bias &lt;3 he has the best personality! (and is talented ofc :)) for the next episode, i'm super excited for LAW! PHanbin is in that group and he's another trainee that i absolutely adore. i really hope he does well!

The trainees being so happy that they're not competing between K and G anymore is everything, the energy and interactions in this episode were IMMACULATE. I am absolutely OBSESSED with the Zoom performance, like oh my god??? They all ate and all their individual verses were just incredible, debut them right now fr I'm so here for everyone trying new things - Matthew leader, Junhyeon choreography, Yujin rapping, we love to see it Seunghwan swooped in out of nowhere for me, I honestly didn't remember him from earlier episodes at all but he was giving MAD joker vibes here, looking like a cross between Woodz and Dino lolll - he BODIED that song holy fuck Also it's so nice how you can obviously tell how close some of them have gotten with each other - there's much less awkwardness and the energy is simply immaculate when they're working together Kuan Rui BEST BOY STOP I LOVE HIM Seeing Gunwook smile so much is my favorite thing, love that kid Minhyuk laughing at Hui LMAO also he's high-key a great MC? Would love to see him more on this show Bro Bobby showing up out of nowhere completely blindsided me LMAO at this point all I want is for pH-1 to have ONE MOMENT of coaching PLEASE MENT I'M BEGGING No bc why do all the 3rd mission songs slap so hard? They're all SO good Favorites from each performance: Ggang - Seunghwan; Zoom - Keita/Haruto/Wumuti (simply cannot decide lmao); Home - Seungeon (love this man); Love Killa - Matthew My current top 9 is in shambles, but I guess: SHanbin, Haruto, Keita, Matthew, Zhang Hao - and then anyone out of Jay, Jiwoong, Cong, Kuan Rui, Seungeon, Gunwook, probably more LMAO

Everyone seemed so relaxed in the performances this time it was so nice to see! Also, loving the new bonds forming now that they've stopped with the K vs G nuisance (the HaoWook moment was adorable - I agree that Gunwook is actually just adorable!) Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that, at certain moments, P. Hanbin looks an awful lot like Enhypen's Sunoo? And I love that for him! He's also someone who's shot up my top 9 list Who loves MattBin more - Mnet or Star Creators? Experts cannot tell the difference Ggang: strong opener but somewhat forgettable. Also I feel like I'm the only person beginning to find Junhyeon annoying... I get that kpop groups like to have someone amazing at variety shows but I find Haruto's mucking about more natural. Idk how to explain it apart from Junhyeon seems to be forcing it at times Home: a sweet performance, Jongwoo outperforming again, someone get that dude to debut! (In another group, I unfortunately don't think he'll debut here.) And Seungeon man, becoming what feels like the 4th main vocalist contender for the debut group (behind Hoetaek, Jay and Taerae). I'm sad that Jay didn't really stick out here, it was just too slow and calm of a song - he just needs something where his voice can just exude Love Killa - pretty marmite this one (iykyk), personally it took me a few watches and I gotta say I do love most of it (just underwhelmed by the dance break). Still scratching my head over Gyuvin winning... he obviously came across better in the studio that day rather than in the edit of the show Zoom - ah, the KTL team of this round, ironically featuring Keita again. Wumuti has proved himself to be someone else who needs to debut out of BP! The chemistry, the stage presence, just wow, so so good! Current top 9: Z. Hao, Matthew, S. Hanbin, Gunwook, P. Hanbin, Keita, Jiwoong, Gyuvin, Yujin
