For your question about IU, I'm sure someone can explain in more detail cause I've only been following her for a couple of years, but I'm pretty sure the song that really made her famous was Good day (2010). I think her popularity just kept growing from that point on. If you ever have time I encourage you to watch her MVs since her debut, they're such a wonderful trip.

So glad you liked HUH, it’s one of my faves from 4M, so iconic. To answer your question about what happened, basically, Cube be Cubing. They decided to resign Hyuna, but not the other girls. If I remember correctly, they were pretty much blindsided with the news. They were reaching new heights of success with Crazy and Hate, so none of them were expecting to disband.

Good Day was for sure the catapult that launched her into the 'nations little sister' status. Then as time went on she started to get the reins of the creative control of her music, and that's when she was beginning to really be recognised as an outstanding songwriter and artist as a whole. She's an undeniable juggernaut honestly. IU 's soft songs sung live are so beguiling in the best way possible. Her voice really does cut through the instrumentals What I love is that recognised the drummer in the IU live clips! He does Jukjae's radio show that brings guests singers on to sing and he is thoroughly entertaining and charismatic. He played for Dreamcatcher as well for at least one of their online concerts. You can actually watch one of their rehearsals from his pov on his youtube channel Jim's TV.

Finally caught up! Thanks for the reaction! As others have pointed out to the IU question, the song that no doubt catapult her to fame was good day but she was slowly gaining traction in previous songs of hers like boo and marshmallow. Her first win actually came from a duet collab with 2am's lim seulong with a song called nagging. That was before good day.
