Tl;dr for the intro: I only had time to film one half of the episode today but will do part two as soon as I can. Once I do, I'll just update this post so both parts can be together!

IMO, the first season is the only season that did the group battle round correctly. They made all girls in A team captains and then they choose from the B-F. That way, there is always 1 A on each team. The other 3 seasons had multiple teams where it was several A on 1 team or teams with not a single A member (remember the Boombayah team?). I also really liked how they made each song choice a debut song. Makes it feel more special. They didn’t do that in future season either. I also really liked how they picked the song THEN the members. Not the other way around. Makes song selection less dramatic.

If you haven't noticed, the independent trainee on PD101 named Kim Seokyoung is in GWSN! She had the short pink hair in Like It Hot.

Lee Soomin (who moves from F to A) is also in Kpop Star 6 and in Mixnine!! The poor girl keeps moving from survival to survival :< she was supposed to debut in Mystic's new girlgroup but she was dropped. So she legit went from Fantagio to FAVE/Loen to Mystic to nothing(?)

I'll refrain from commenting on ITNW's performances because they dragged it out till next episode, but I just wanna say that I get so annoyed at how mnet completely ignored the fact that Eunwoo was in that "avengers" team? Like It got repeated over and over how it had Somi, Chanmi and the two DIA girls Heehyun and Chaeyeon but not one single mention of Eunwoo??Eunwoo had been a part of 2 tv shows before Produce, SuperStar K4 and The Voice Kids Korea and that's probably why Heehyun chose her to be on the team, and she's so talented!! She honestly could have done Chanmi's parts. I don't think they even showed a single clip of her talking in the whole preparing for performances/performing part of the episode. Anyway, rant done, love all of my Pledis Girls who were funnily enough paired up against each other for this episode, Siyeon x Kyulkyung (pinky) for I don't Know and Eunwoo x Kyungwon for ITNW. Looking forward to the next ep :)

I cannot believe I didn't notice until watching these reactions that both Sei and Elly were on produce 101... I have two Weki Meki posters on my wall that were there when I first watched it but I still completely missed that it was them

Just wanted to say, when I first watched this episode, Heo Chanmi's attitude and how she looked/reacted to Yeonjung and everyone else really bugged me. She came off as kind of arrogant? Anyways, looking back now, she definitely was a victim of MNET's evil editing. Chanmi even later clarified that the zoomed in expressions of her seemly annoyed during the other team's performance was actually from her monitoring her own performance but MNET spliced it to look like she was reacting bitterly to the other team. And the purposefully emphasized her failed highnote. She just made the perfect villian character they wanted for the show since she's experienced and walked with this air of confidence around her. Looking back on her career, she's had it pretty tough; almost debuting with SNSD, then F(X), debuting with Coed School/F-ve dolls which was poorly managed and didn't last, then came on this show, she later also competed on Mixnine, and moved around quite a few companies. She did finally make a solo debut a year or two ago but hasn't really been heard of much since. Honestly it's nice to watch this show again and see how many faces I recognize and see where they are now.

I'm sorry but Yoo Yoenjung is the standard?? ISTG they may have been ignoring her the past 2 episodes but baby Yeonjung DESERVED this spotlight WOOOO PS. Finally diving into Produce 101 and super glad I'm watching it with you, Kaia, if not just for the shared creeper vibes the host both gives us.
