We made it. Finally.

Just as a note: this is coming in place of an Iz*one Chu episode or the Debut Showcase reaction this week! Because of the Dreamcatcher concert I just did not have time to fit either in today on top of the other stuff, so I'll see you next week for the showcase and the week after for Chu!

Enjoy,

Yummy Summer!!

Lance Ma

Sakura composed music and wrote the lyrics for yummy summer. I am so proud of her, to me this song should have been the title track instead of beware. It was meant to be included in their last Korean come back, but she couldn't finish the song in time. She wanted to create a summer song for us since this is the last summer for Izone and wizone. Their japanese song mix is always suspect, akp hasn't done any good songs since early 2010, the girls save the songs with their performances. Biggest regret is Izone Japanese track is control by akp, what a waste.

Loved this! You're too soft for Iz*one like everyone of us Wiz*ones. 😍🥰 Not sure if I just missed it, but the Japanese versions of their KR title tracks were not here? Sakura, Nako, and Hitomi did all three of them and it's not really the same meaning as the Korean versions. 💙 You might want to check it out by yourself when you're free, they did a great job on those. 🎉 Iz*one is doing j-pop style on their Japanese albums so it's really mixed in a very j-pop way to appeal to the Japanese market. Hahaha. Usually K-pop idols when they're doing J-pop comebacks just do the Japanese versions of their Korean songs but it's different with Iz*one.

I'm so glad you like Yummy summer because it's composed and written by Sakura. She drafted it in Korean first which is why it sounds more kpop than jpop. Sakuchan has a very specific idea about which line each member would sing so she gave Chaewon all the killing part because Chaewon embrace the summer vibe of the song haha

Glad you enjoyed this album! Honestly their best JP album by far although I still much prefer their KR discography. Was honestly still surprised by a couple songs here! I feel a lot of us aren't fans of the low quality mixing they have with their jp songs and that's mostly due to their jp company (vernalossom/aks). It's a shame because a lot of j-pop sounds really good but it's their specific company that insists on the akb-style mixing which ends up sounding rather messy and unmastered. I'm hoping that if we do have one more jp comeback, the girls will be in charge of production or at least they'll try different music producers because the girls definitely deserve some bops! And yep, much like everyone else says, Yummy Summer is definitely the best song on this album thanks to both Sakura's work and the Korean production behind it! Can't wait for show-case next week! :)

Reading through the comments and they practically said everything. One funny thing tho (well funny for me haha), I was waiting for you to notice and react to the "with you WIZ*ONE" line from Yummy Summer. But every time the line came, you were banging your head and not reading (which is relatable)... Idk.. it's just funny for me 😂

Thank you for the reaction, I really enjoy it.😘 I checked the vlive, and if I remember correctly also in her radio "sakunoki", Sakura said Yummy Summer was ment to be in the album of SSOS. But the release date was a bit early for the summer song. So they put it in the song list of the summer concert, which was unfortunately cancelled. Sakura didn't mention why it's not included in the online concert. (But I'm glad with it, we got Monster!) So Yummy Summer ended up first present in Twelve. Correct me if I'm wrong, lovely fellow wiz*one. 😊

I do recommend listening to the jp versions of the flower trilogy since they were recorded recently so the vocals are leveled up and jline's lyrics are not only beautiful, but they're also the most natural sounding jp translations of kpop songs i've ever heard. they hit differently. I'm still hoping we get a Yummy Summer ot12 kr version. i'm curious about the lyrics since sakura originally wrote it in korean. she was nervous about how it would be received since it's her first composer credit and it turned out so amazing, i'm a proud wizone. a cute story she told on vlive was that her interest in composing music started back in Violeta era because she thought Eunbi was so cool when she asked staff to listen to her songs. Dosurebai is a trip and I never would have expected izone to tackle the jazz genre but they nailed it as they do. Thanks for sharing the album listen!
