World Sneak Peek - Part 3 - The Great Library (Patreon)

Welcome to yet another preview of an important location in our universe!

Right outside the gates of the city lies an enormous structure, a place holding the most important thing there is... Knowledge! The Great Library is an ancient icon of Elvish culture, most of their society is built upon its foundations, a collection of books and scrolls, magic or otherwise, approaching every imaginable topic of discussion. Such an important place has been under protection even before the lands beneath were discovered to be rich in mana crystals. 

As a major and ancient landmark, it is said that the city of Elfheim was built right next to it so that everyone could promptly access its archives; in times of need, such as war or decadence, it became a refuge, an inspirational place to leaders, a final home to many tales of cunning and brave deeds, a source of hope and enlightenment to past and future generations.

Even now, in times of peace, The Great Library is still the place one would seek for answers. As many have before her, Morgana was appointed to be a librarian many decades ago; a position she takes very seriously. In her efforts to update and improve the works of her predecessors, she introduced extra layers of protection to access old books containing forgotten and dangerous spells so that nobody without the proper intentions could harness their power.

Once she understood the importance and size of the work which was needed, Morgana asked Meriandra to help her around, mostly by keeping everything cataloged and stored in its rightful place. But sometimes the job isn't that simple; a quest to retrieve some lost book or scroll that has found itself in the wrong hands could be called at any moment! However, as much as she is always loaded with work, Meriandra loves the opportunities she's given by her master, and even if she doesn't say it out loud, she is really glad to be a part of such work.

The Great Library is old, there are even some bedrooms in the attic to allow travelers or very restless readers to take a break when needed. Nowadays, most of these rooms are forgotten due to their lack of use, but things are about to change... now that our MC is getting to visit the place, Morgana and Meriandra will help him uncover some secrets, but what could lie beyond the world of knowledge?
