Because what I need is yet another character. Actually, a long time ago, I was tasked with sketching a toppish black male poodle in a commission and I liked the design idea so much I thought about utilizing a similar character in stories in the future. As I search for the man who would come to control Rachel's life, I thought of this kind of dandy, possibly-bisexual, well groomed intelligent hedonist. Still pondering a name.
