So is she's a chimera dressed like a 20's era flapper? I'm envious, I lost my imagination years ago when I started taking STEM classes and working in cubicle farms.

The simplest answer would be to check out The Great Gatsby. The long answer is that it was the name given to young American white girls in the 1920s who wore fashion styles that rebelled against the fading Victorian social norms of the time. Young women wore very short open dresses, pearl necklaces, feathers, and sometimes open rubber boots. They were called flappers because of their loose style of clothes and because it was a term for "loose" women.
