Weekly Report - April 24, 2022 | #16 (Patreon)

Hello dear Patrons,

It's Sunday and it's time to review the events of the past week!

[1] A logo for Akokan Island

This week, many of you have used your patron-only voting power to choose the official logo of the new addon in the pipeline: Akokan Island. I thank you for your participation 😙

So you chose the version with the "Utopian Nature Reserve" indication. This is just between us, but it was also my favourite 🤭

[2] Mapping point

As you may have guessed, this week I've been working mainly on the creation of Akokan Island. In this sense, last night I was able to make a very first delivery from Iliffe to Port-Meli. I wrote a short article about it in the evening.

I have also chosen to create a ferry terminal in Iliffe which will allow you to travel to the Akokan Island. Why this town? I realised that it already had a dock that was inaccessible to the players. That saved me a lot of time in terms of mapping. And it's also because Iliffe is well situated in relation to Port-Mel. So it all came together very well. 😄

Finally, several bus stops have been added mainly in the new cities of the latest version. It turns out that I forgot to create them for a while and I apologize to the bus drivers for that. This will be corrected as updates are made. The fix will bring new stops in Salininkai, Sainte-Marie-sur-Mer, Chaseville and Iliffe.

[3] Bug fixes

Also, I proceeded to the correction of the bugs which were reported since the publication of the v1.14 of Grand Utopia. The fix will arrive today under the version v1.14.1 and it will be available for the general public so that all the utopian truckers can benefit from the corrections.

[4] Early Access Videos

Following the poll posted this week, I posted a first video available in early access. This new benefit is available to all my Patreon members, regardless of their level of membership. And if you haven't already done so, take the opportunity to check out the Café Mapping #25 which was also published this week!

[5] Patreon upgrade

Due to the arrival of new benefits, I'm going to update the descriptions for each level of commitment to include early access to videos and the Akokan Island addon.

Don't worry, this doesn't change anything for you. This is to better inform those who will join us.

[6] Mapping tutorials

This week, I also started writing the new series of mapping tutorials. As a reminder, these tutorials will be available in the form of thematic sheets. Each of these sheets will be linked in parallel to a short video tutorial.

I don't know when the first sheet will be published but I don't think the wait will be very long 😄

Nous sommes dimanche et il est l'heure de passer en revue les événements de cette semaine passée !

[1] Un logo pour l'Île d'Akokan

Cette semaine, vous avez été nombreux à avoir utiliser votre pouvoir de vote Patreon pour choisir le logo officiel du nouvel addon en cours de préparation : l'Île d'Akokan. Je vous remercie de votre participation 😙

Vous avez donc choisi la version incluant l'indication "Réserve Naturelle Utopienne". Ça reste entre nous mais c'était aussi mon préféré 🤭

[2] Point Mapping

Comme vous l'aurez deviné, cette semaine, j'ai principalement travaillé sur la création de l'Île d'Akokan. En ce sens, hier soir, j'ai pu effectué une toute première livraison depuis Iliffe jusqu'à Port-Méli. J'ai rédigé un bref article à ce sujet dans la soirée.

J'ai également choisi de créer une gare maritime à Iliffe qui vous permettra de vous rendre sur l'Île d'Akokan. Pourquoi cette ville ? Je me suis rendu compte qu'elle possédait déjà un quai qui était alors inaccessible pour les joueurs. Cela m'a permis de gagner un temps précieux au niveau du mapping. Et c'est également parce qu'Iliffe est bien situé par rapport à Port-Méli. Tout est donc très bien tombé 😄

Enfin, plusieurs arrêts de bus ont été ajoutés principalement dans les nouvelles villes de la dernière version. Il s'avère que quelque peu oublié de les créer depuis un certain temps et je m'excuse auprès des chauffeurs de bus pour cela. Le mal sera corrigé au fur et à mesure des mises-à-jour. Le fix apportera des arrêts à Salininkai, Sainte-Marie-sur-Mer, Chaseville et Iliffe.

[3] Correction de bugs

Aussi, j'ai procédé à la correction des bugs qui ont été signalés depuis la publication de la v1.14 de Grand Utopia. Le fix arrivera donc aujourd'hui sous la version v1.14.1 et il sera dispo pour le grand public afin que l'ensemble des routiers utopiens puissent profiter des corrections.

[4] Vidéos en accès anticipé

Suite au sondage posté cette semaine, j'ai posté une première vidéo disponible en accès anticipé. Ce nouvel avantage est offert à l'ensemble des membres de mon Patreon, peu importe leur niveau d'engagement. Et si ce n'est pas déjà fait, profitez-en pour consulter le Café Mapping #25 qui a également été publié cette semaine !

[5] Mise-à-jour du Patreon

Suite à l'arrivée de nouveaux avantages, je vais mettre à jour les descriptions relatives à chaque niveau d'engagement pour inclure l'accès anticipé aux vidéos et l'addon Akokan Island.

Pas de panique, cela ne change rien pour vous. Il s'agit de mieux informer celles et ceux qui nous rejoindront.

[6] Tutoriels mapping

Cette semaine, j'ai également commencé la rédaction de la nouvelle série de tutoriels mapping. Pour rappel, ces tutos seront disponible sous forme de fiches thématiques. Chacune de ces fiches sera liée en parallèle à un tutoriel vidéo.

Je ne sais pas quand la première fiche sera publiée mais je pense que l'attente ne sera plus très longue 😄
