Nice. Being reminded of the Falling Tower sends me into armchair architect/engineer mode, but unfortunately my idea of a Space Elevator-like support is doomed by the fact islands just don't stay in place on this world. If you can't get a fixed point on the equator, you can't have a point on the ground that stays vertically under a Lagosynchronous-orbit satellite... (and even if there were, the Yomunculi would likely have to conquer it first)
