I had this weird idea that black cats' ability to cause bad luck is because of stored entropy kept in their fur. When they squeeze out the entropy it's like the blackness bleeding out of their fur and turning into smoke that causes bad things to happen. It's kind of a super-power, but not a very pleasant one.
