This is just a pre-warmer before I open commissions, so you guys can all get up to speed before that happens.

With commissions only being taken up to the following month, the limit of slots per person at a time is going back down to 2 in order to keep the queue from becoming overly monopolized.

The trade off for this is that if your picture is unfinished, you'll be able to immediately reserve the next month's slots when the slots you had get done.

Ideally this will allow pictures requiring many slots to be completed in a more timely manner.

Since there are still a very limited number of openings in a month, I will have to be much more selective about which commissions I accept. The good news is that you won't have to wait for the very second slots are open to send e-mails in, but the bad news is that slots aren't guaranteed. It'll also mean you'll need to have at least a placeholder idea ready in order to reserve slots.

For the patrons pledging at the $10 level, what you'll get instead of reserving 3 slots at a time is early access to the month's commission pass-key, allowing you to get your commission details in earlier.  You'll also get access to the discord, where you can run your commission idea by me if you are unsure of if it will be selected or not. It's also a much more direct line to me if you need to get into contact for some reason.

Outside of the pass key thing which i reckon might end up confusing a few folks that seems really solid. Look forward to seeing the result.

Don't really understand... What exactly has changed? What's the difference from the previous rules?

aka6

it's to prevent people from just sending e-mails in before the start of the month to try to get in early

Previously, you could buy up to 3 slots; but would have to wait several months. Now, you can only get 2 slots; but you only have to wait 1 month.

What's a pass key? Also, the $35 tier is very vague to me in it's description. Is it just a slot that we collectively stack and reserve for your own works?

klifff

Oh...now to see the large-scale work in your performance will become even more difficult.

See, it's already happening. You could just do like Sparrow and give a limited window of 12 hour starting at midnight on the first of the month, your time. Don't accept what comes before or after that.

The pass key is just going to be a word you'll have to include in the e-mail subject to reserve a slot. Commissions will only be open for a short time at the start of each month instead of being perpetually open. The $35 tier just sponsors a day when I stream my own stuff.

Does this system still allow for your customers to combine their slots with other patrons?

aka6

I'm not sure if it'll be necessary. A single person will be able to get slots for a single picture at a much faster rate than they could previously.

For discord, is there a link for it, or do we need an invite for it aka?

aka6

If you link discord to your patreon profile, you'll get automatically invited.

That actually makes perfect sense. I was just covering all cylinders to be sure. Thanks!

I'm not really interested in linking the two. Could you send out a invite?

Also wanted to comment how I really like this new system. I think it saves a lot of heartache from waiting a few months for slots to open. Also, definitely a lot easier on you in regards to emails.

Quick question; should one include the references for the characters in the pic with the first email (trying to get a slot), or save that for the follow-up email (when/if they actually gets a slot)?

With the way gmail works, it's not necessary for you to include every single thing in the opening e-mail. links in the first e-mail occasionally get hit by the spam filter too, so be careful about where you're linking things from. Imgur is generally fine, and attaching images to the e-mail is safe.
