Hey, everyone! I continue to put time into trying to get the TWC cover right, and now I have something to show everyone. Please vote on which of the following color schemes you think looks best.

Blue:

Orange:

Purple:

Green:

Yellow:

Though we're not limited to these colors, I think these are five strong color schemes. We do have the option to mix and match background/magic colors, or you can vote for none. Please vote your preference or leave comments!

The yellow feels more… magical to me

My wife and I believe the green gives the best contrast, while not emphasizing water, which the blue might get people to think. Also, previous book has a green dominant color so you have a theme there

Green, but blue is my 2nd vote

Blue was my fave but also voted for green since it had good contrast and ties in with first book cover.

Purple stood out the most to me. It gives a calming yet mysterious vibe if that makes sense.

Damn, they all look amazing. Overall though, I think I like Green the least *for a cover* because it also sort of has the most "evil" vibe to it, which might be misleading or give the wrong tone to the potential reader. Nobody seems to like orange in the vote, so I'll just skip over that one - it was my 2nd last pick anyway. Yellow looks good, but I think the details of the soulspace/soulcrafting on the cover blend in more than is good, with that color. It makes the cover "pop" to the viewer less than the remaining two. I still voted for this one (and the remaining two too), just to help separate it more from green and orange in the vote, which I definitely think you should not pick. Purple looks really good. I like everything about this one, except that the purple color-shift seems to have pulled a lot of the detail color out of the main building in the center, especially it's front and the bit of landscaping outside it, which seems a shame to lose. I really liked that detail in the colors that preserved it. Blue is my first pick. I think that this "pops" to the reader the most in all the ways that yellow didn't, has a great overall color coordination, still has the color detail on the center building front (and the blue complements those accent colors very well). I don't think you really need to worry about people associating it with water - the whole look of the cover is very "mystical" and if anything, looks more like some kind of sky or cosmological theming (it's wispy, with little smoke effects/cloud details, etc), rather than oceanic/seafaring sort of look that would further an association with water. Blue seems the most popular in the vote so far anyway, so maybe this comment was all overkill, but that's my $2 :)

I like the lighting of the mixed cover personally. edit: I mean the yellow image.

I voted for blue with yellow being my second choice. The colors just seem to work well together on those two. It's not as easy to lose the elements in the background on the blue one, which is why that one is my top choice.

Yellow feels way too bright for the MC. It's too happy and magical and he just isn't those things

I'm normally all for blue, but here it just feels like it might be the sky. The purple is very nice and my third choice. Once I saw the green I just felt a match to the story. It has a lot of contrast and the green with gold feels like a mix of magic and life energy that for me seems to relate to soulcrafting.

I agree specifically on the purple point - lovely colour but the central building/courtyard looks much better balanced in blue
