Great chapter, Not exactly that big of a cliff hanger. I am most interested in how Whitney is going to react. Though, there is a slim chance where rick is not attacked and that would be slightly interesting. The most likely route is that rick is attacked and nearly killed (as planned). How he copes and grows would be most interesting outcome but not surprising. That being said. I cannot wait for the next chapter.

Never let it be said that Rick doesn't have the guts of a man a thousand times his strength. Seriously, dude tries to avoid taking risks he doesn't have to, but when it comes to the ones he does, follows through.

Considering he's been planning on this for a while, I guess he's been banking on this not killing him outright. Is only retaliating hard enough to *almost* kill someone proper etiquette in this society? Or is he maybe counting on Teragen to use his superpowered perception to notice the medicine he just took? Would Teragen almost kill him just to be a bro? Considering the perks of getting beaten up by a superpowered person in this world, I have to wonder if this is just one of the downsides of being rich and powerful in this world. There's not an established etiquette (and what Rick did would be stupid against a lot of people), but you'll find out more next time. As for people trying to assault the strongest fighters in this world, I have considered that they'd have bodyguards who are weaker than them simply to disincentivize numerous challenges.
