Looking at that got me to wondering if the sphere shape could be converted to diamond shapes and it would look like dragon/snake skin. Will definitely have to watch the details in the video to see.

Yes, I got it to work. Still need to fiddle a bit to get the scaling right, but it does look dragon...um...y? Dragonesgue?Yes, dragony that's the proper word. 😂 Thanks for the Blend.
