Is there an easy way to split the x and y of the pixels spacing to adjust them individually? I tried to do it myself with split and combine xyz but it failed.

are you saying you want to change the aspect ratio and make non-square pixels? or something else?

I'm saying I would like to be able to independently adjust the x and y spacing of the "circular pixels".

what you could do is instead of seeing it as 'spacing' - you could think of it as making some pixels on or off. This will give the illusion of spacing and be much easier to create
