🌟 New Year, New Trixel+ | Changes to Scheduling, Benefits and Price (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

As we look forward to a new year, we've made several decisions regarding the future of trixel+. These decisions have been made based on our recent Community Survey (which over 100 community members filled out in 24 hours), as well as new internal improvements and reshuffling.

Before we get into these changes, we'd like to start by thanking you - our wonderful supporters. It may sound a little cliché or cheesy, but we couldn't be more grateful for all of the support you have given us since trixel+ began in October of 2020. As a non-profit team with no publishing partners, we really could not have made it this far without you. We genuinely and thoroughly enjoy creating content for you each month, and we deeply value your feedback.

With that said, let's take a look at the new changes happening to trixel+.

📙 New and Changing Benefits

The benefits we offer are made with you in mind, but we've heard you loud and clear. It's become evident that several changes need to be made.

We know you're eager to see more of Restitched itself. With the tools already available for building scenes, we plan to provide new in-game screenshots on a regular basis.

• Next Month Preview

Formerly called 'Next Month In Trixel+', these monthly posts will no longer include just a brief list of what's to come. Instead, they will now include actual sneak peeks and... ahem... previews for the upcoming month, including screenshots and other teasers.

• Social Shout-Outs

You may have noticed we haven't posted one of these in a while, and that's because we now include shout-outs in our Quarterly Recap posts and the 'our patrons' page of our website.

• Community Polls

We're planning to introduce occasional polls that are more substantial and directly influence the development of Restitched and our platform. Remember the Monthly Screenshots feature we mentioned? Look out for the Community Polls where we ask you what you'd like us to create!

• Trixel Diary

Interest in Restitched is naturally much higher than company topics, so we've decided to make it so that Trixel Diary posts will no longer take the place of Restitched: Developer Diaries when they are scheduled for the same month.

• The Grandiose Tales of Cpt. Stuffy

We're fully aware that the slow rollout has made Cpt. Stuffy one of the less exciting monthly posts for some of you. While we’ll continue to produce the comic on a monthly basis, we are also looking into alternative methods of distribution in order to keep things fresh. A lot of passion goes into the comic, so we'd love for the community to hold the same level of excitement as we have for it.

• Restitched: Developer Diary

With features often taking months to make, there's the inevitable issue that it will outrun development itself. With this in mind, Developer Diaries may soon become more infrequent as we work to develop the game and our other benefits. We still have a few lined up for you, but we wanted to let you know in advance.

• Exclusive Wallpaper

Creating high-quality wallpapers is no easy feat as it takes the valuable time of our artists and designers. Your feedback indicated that it's one of the lower-ranked benefits of the service, so we'll now only offer these occasionally.

🗓️ New Post Schedule

We're aware many of you feel there is a rush of content in the latter half of the month, so we're updating the schedule in order to release new posts every three days. We've also moved Restitched: Recapped! to the start of the month so the latest developments are most relevant to you at the time of reading. 

The new schedule will be as follows:

• 3rd - Restitched: Recapped!
• 6th - Exclusive Wallpaper*
• 9th - Restitched: Asset Preview
• 12th - Community Poll
• 15th - Restitched: Developer Diary*
• 18th - Monthly Screenshot
• 21st - Next Month Preview
• 24th - Restitched: From The Vault
• 27th - The Grandiose Tales of Cpt. Stuffy

🔄 Improved Billing Cycle for New Subscribers

Those of you that subscribed after October 26, 2022, will now be charged monthly from the day you signed up. Existing patrons that subscribed before this date will continue to be charged on the first of each month.

This new change from Patreon prevents users from being charged twice within their first month of signing up.

⭐️ trixel+ Price Change

As you've seen in the banner above, we’ve made the decision to raise the trixel+ access fee from $2 to $3 per month (USD) for new subscribers.

This simple one-dollar price increase may not seem like a big jump, but it will help us an incredible amount when it comes to supporting our expenses such as licenses, assets, storage space, tool subscriptions, registration fees, general platform fees, and domain maintenance fees - not to mention our future advertising and publishing costs.

Our recent survey showed us that 71% of you believe trixel+ is worth $3-5, and that 83.4% think that, at $2, we'd only need to publish one or two things per month to satisfy the price. For reference, we offer between 7-9 monthly features.

With all of these outlined decisions, we've decided now is the right time to make this change. Please note this will not affect current subscribers for as long as your membership is active. If you've signed up before this change, you can continue to enjoy trixel+ at the price you initially signed up for.

This increased price will take effect on January 1, 2023. After this date, you will no longer be able to sign up for the $2 (USD) tier.

🚀 The Future

We look forward to providing loads of future content on trixel+ and to the eventual release of our game Restitched. We constantly express how we couldn't do what we do without our community and, as stated earlier, this could not be more true with our trixel+ subscribers. You really are literally helping us to create the game of our dreams, and we can't wait to share more of our journey with you.
