Reik is one of the most challenging characters in terms of drawing, and at the same time one of the most enjoyable. 

His big, bold and curve features make a nice flow for the hand but his anatomy was quite hard to pull off. I needed to keep all the recognisable features of an Orca but adding the flexibility of a human neck, which is quite hard when these animals are known for their stiffness. I'm still learning and trying to figure out how to make him more flowy and Orca like in time. Sometimes I get close to the ideal and sometimes...just don't.

I'm personally a big fan of Reik's character. A big guy with a bigger heart. Its probably partially due to me not having many friends throughout my life, but the extra compassionate characters usually have a special spot for me. Making him an Orca is an interesting choice since their behavior can be as gentle as it is ruthless. I'm sure everyone has heard of shamo. The, at least partially, domesticated orca. Her gentle habits with her handler were always awe-inspiring. Then wild Orcas are known for their borderline barbaric predatory habits that keeps them higher up on the food chain. Grace, Elegence, and personality just as black and white as their blubber are all parts of what makes them such beautiful sea critters!
