"Devilman crybaby" is based on the comic "Devilman" by Japanese comic artist Go Nagai. The first animation "Devilman" was produced in the 1970s, this version was slightly different from the comic, and it takes the form of a single-episode heroic story. The images and music that the boy were looking at on the Internet were from this first animation. The director of this series, Masaaki Yuasa, has a very recognizable and unique art style and it's perfect for this series. If you want to see more of his works after you finish this, I recommend Japan Sinks 2020, The Night is Short Walk on Girl, and Mind Game.
