To answer your question Neuralex : Yes Armin did it on purpose to say Eren was killed so she stops fighting them and go for Eren. But he tested something else while saying that ( that you will discover later on ). Season one is a Box of mysteries, you will be so wowed when you discover the truth behind every little thing. Just be aware EVERY question you have about AOT will be answered. There is absolutely no plothole in this show, not ONE ( I can say that because I watched it like 15 times now )

I won't tell you if you are right or wrong with your theoryes since that would be an spoiler, but I can tell you about the prevews episodes that Erwin, at least in Spanish said "Are you willing to offer you hearts for humanity", and on my books that's a lot more stronger than offering their lifes. You are correct, there are so many questions, and there will be more and more answers along the way. I am enjoying seeing your reactions and the fact that you fell in love with SNK or AOT. I am glad that you GF is watching it, it would be a welcome adittion if she could join you in one of the episodes of her likeing or maybe the last episode of the season, so she can see you react on the spot while she knows what's going on.
