Windows update corrupted my new pc's C drive.  Its so bad that no program that came with the computer works, including all the recovery software.

I lost every script I'd had saved on my desktop, which was over *half* of what was being worked on for next year.  Included in which was a just-last-night completed script for reviewing Code Geass, one I'd been working on for three years that had ended up 50 pages (roughly 200 minutes) long.

As a result, expect further delays on what little was going to be released this year, as now I'm going to be stuck fighting with work crunch again.

So much for my "Vacation" year.

I'll be digging out my old pc tomorrow, if you're one of my patrons that is for some reason NOT subscribed to the youtube channel, John's planning to take over the livestream on Friday if that works.

Update: got on Old PC, and the damage is worse than I'd thought.  the version of the saved Code Geass Script is version .3, which is even less than I'd believed.
I also lost the Megaman Battle Network 5 script, which I'd spent a few days on in January.
Meaning most of what I did IN January, where I took a full month off work, has now been invalidated.
Thus, 2023 will very likely be As Sparse on release content as this year has been, and will likely not contain anything I'd planned for it originally as the Code Geass Script recreation will occupy time I'd needed to do the 3 games that I was going to do that Tied into it.  All of them needed to be ready to go as a unit, and now with almost 1/4 of the year already gone I'm not going to be able to DO that.

"Didn't you save it to cloud or on backups?"
Cloud computing and storage is a paid service that I don't have the money for.  AS for backups, due to external drive failures as of late I was in the midst of cleaning out my old archive drive when this happened, and the Desktop files backup was not part of either.  furthermore, those backups are what was left on the old PC I'm posting this from right now, meaning...no, there is no backup.
and as I posted to Zen before, my 'rebuild from Scratch' Rewrites have a ridiculously high tendency to be worse than my revised first draft.  MOST of my content is written stream-of-consciousness, believe it or not.  So once it leaves my head it really can't ever be recreated in the same way again.  Even if I redo it, it'll only be a pale imitation to the first effort.
Thus, I'm really not happy about this right now.

Aw man. I don't suppose you had a separate outline or anything

It's the problem of 'stream-of-conciousness writing', I generally don't work that way. Worse, The Finished version of my scripts often have Quoted texts that I have the sourced Links to right next to them in the word document. I can't find those out of the blue again. Staff citations were all over the finished Geass script, which I'd spent a chunk of January tracking down in ways I don't even remember anymore.
