It kinda feels like Japan's ultra reliance on pedigree does not allow for concepts such as the death of the author to really be allowed to flourish as they keep wanting to turn to a product's creator regardless of how old said creator is and expect their wor to be gold when it doesn't work like that

Missed my point: Tomino's "Successes" were never actually Tomino's, it was a mis-crediting of responsibility that ignores the actual authors who were responsible for writing what worked; lasting to reach the point that new writers he would work with would just defer to him because of the mistaken reputation. Death of the Author for Tomino happened in the 90's with MOST of that decade being Sunrise trying to put back together what Tomino Broke; but his seniority at Sunrise and his connections to executives are what kept allowing his foot back in the door.
