Part 1 of the gorgeous young tiger.

This piece is being drawn on Grafix Drafting Film .005 Double Matt. The size paper is A4 (21x29cm/8.5x11.5"). I have filled pretty much the whole of the A4 with the image so I'd leave a little more space side to side so you can frame it.

Photo ref Clare Watkins, please make sure you credit Clare whenever sharing your tiger.

I'm still working on this piece, so the colours in the materials list may well change.

The key to working on drafting film is super light pressure, think of the lightest possible pressure you can do, and then go even lighter ;)

The line art, I would highly recommend you create your own from the photo. Mine is there as a guide, the whiskers are done thicker as they are really thick on the piece.

Enjoy!

Evening, Bonny and happy belated birthday! I have a Q. How do you cut a large sheet of grafix drafting film into smaller 8.5”x11”? Which method and instruments? I have a cutting mat, xacto craft knife, henckels scissors, and a rather dirty steel 15” ruler. Thank you ahead of time.

Thank you :) I use a long metre steel ruler and stanley knift on a cutting mat. I have my cutting mat with marks on so I know what size I'm cutting to - just little pen marks so I can line my ruler up :)
