Support: Grafix Drafting Film .005 Double Matt

Part 1 - The Eye.

I call this a beginners tutorial as I go into great depth in the creation of the piece, it's suitable for anyone wanting to create a realistic pencil drawing on drafting film.

If you just want to practice eyes, then this is a great video showing you how to create a realistic eye on drafting film.

I always start with the outside first as that gives me structure, form and context.

Ref photo, line art, flipped line art and  materials list are all attached below.

I´m so happy I did it, but I am so confused....I use the polychromos on Bristol Winsor & Newton Paper, which is extra smooth, and I don´t understand why the slice tool hardly works...I did a few layers with just polychromos, so like you did it and the only thing that works is the white pablo, so I had a hard time to create those litte white hairs that overlap the lips, the white Pablo worked, but it looked a little bluish and now the mouth looks smudgy and grey instead of that lovely white that you created;

It could be the result of not building up enough layers, but the paper can´t take more of 4 layers or so.....it´s absolutely soft......
