You weren’t paying attention. Makoto was using Vegito’s body and stated that he had vegito’s power. That’s why he even used the god slayer blade. Makoto before all this would have been slaughtered easily by Kenji.

Think of it as the time vegito gave babidi his energy to make the strongest buu. That buu fought on par with vegito before getting beaten and absorbed to make vegito even stronger. ARJ wouldn’t make a dumb mistake like making makoto the same level of power when he fought goku.

Indeed, Makoto did take over Vegito’s body after all and Vegito seemed to have just taken over Kenji’s. I guess in a way he is? I suppose Makoto was only able to manifest within Vegito’s mind because he too is a blood demon that caught Vegito when there was another’s blood within him. But at the same time, he needs to absorb Makoto to truly be at 100% from what it looks like.

I love that Gohan may soon get the completion of beyond beast. Maybe Super Ikari God form. I would love to see one Sayian evolve to be immortal. It seems no God's left to keep balance, it needs to be restored. The Demon Realm was influencing the gods a long time. My observations.
