Self defense yes, you will most likely be dropped of a murder charge, but you may still get in trouble with a manslaughter charge (as she can be argued to have used excessive measure that causes the guy's death, a very hard thing to argue in court if she can afford an expensive and experienced lawyer) as well as the negativity , fear around it, like who would want to stand next to someone whose kick can just crush your body like that :( Funnily the US law is quite different that what we have in Australia (haven't had a chance to check others), seems like it is a lot easier to get manslaughter dropped on self defense in US
