Sorry about how long this update has taken. When I delayed it to this month, I figured it would be out around the 5th or so. That was pretty far off, but it still probably would have been finished around the middle of the month if I didn’t have something come up in my life that pretty effectively sapped my will and time to work on the game for a bit. Hopefully for the next update I’ll be able to finish it sooner to push back the release date to not be at the very end of the month, but if not, I’ll just pause payments again.

Anyways, onto the good news. The update is done! And much more done than it would have been if I released it last month, obviously. The update completely overhauls how femininity and depravity work, adds a new skill tree with 12 skills on it, adds weapons to Beatrice’s shop (and new weapons for said shop), and does some general balance changes to a number of different things, mainly enemies.

Additionally, the update is around 12 000 words, and, thanks to how long it took, it adds a lot of art. This update adds CG’s for 6 different scenes in game, including three scenes for the Dryad in the third dungeon, the scene with Katie and the player crawling through a crack in the wall in the second dungeon, the first rimjob scene with Ami in the alleyways, and the rimjob scene with Sister Ann. It’s a grand total of 19 images, though most of the extra images are just minor variations.

I’m quite happy with the quality of art from the latest new artist, and extremely happy with how quickly they complete commissions. I think I’ll be able to consistently get two or three new CG’s from them per month, which is a good start to getting a decent amount of art in the game. Let me know if there are any scenes you are desperate to see art for, and I’ll probably make a poll to decide what scene to commission next.

There are also actual fights for the fifth dungeon enemies, and the wolf girl I skipped over back in the fourth dungeon. I still haven’t gotten around to setting up the fifth dungeon properly, or making it so you can actually hand in the fourth dungeon quest. Other than that, that’s it for an overview of everything new, below I’ll go into more detail on the femininity and depravity rework, and the new skills, if you are interested in that. This is identical to the long-version description that you can view when you load an old save in-game, if you are already pledged and can get the update. Oh, and there’s a function to try and make old saves compatible with all of these changes. It’s bound to have a few issues here and there, but overall I think it will make things work.

The first main change to the game is how femininity works. Instead of providing additional power and defense after gaining a certain amount of femininity, the player will now level up from gaining femininity. This is separate from leveling up from exp, so gaining femininity levels doesn’t make it harder to gain exp levels, but otherwise identical. You can view your femininity level in the status menu. The amount of femininity needed for each “level” of femininity is quite a bit higher, since the bonuses are higher as well, however, events tend to provide higher stat changes the further they are into the game. Depravity has also been changed a bit, instead of reducing your defense a flat amount, it adds a 5% bonus to all damage taken per level.

Which brings me to another change. Most stat changing events are no longer repeatable, other than events that save/gain money in exchange for increasing depravity, and some daily events at the church to reduce depravity. Additionally, a few town events have had time restrictions added to them, so you can’t access them until reaching a certain point in the questline. This puts a limit on how much femininity you can gain at a certain part of the gain, to help balance things. The amount of femininity needed to level up increases as your level increases, but later events also provide more stats than they used to.

Another main change is the introduction of pure and depraved skills. If you gain enough depravity levels, you will gain depraved skills, which are powerful but often have drawbacks, such as an HP cost to use them. If you reach a goddess statue without gaining depraved skill points, you can gain purity skill points instead, which offer weaker bonuses without drawbacks. You can swap these points when you reach the statue if you wish. Also, Beatrice actually sells weapons now, and will provide a new “tier” of weaponry after each dungeon is completed. Currently they only go up to tier 3 though.

\fi\c[25]The last major change is to the healing charges you can use in the dungeon. These charges now only provide 50% of your max hp as healing when used outside of combat. This is meant to encourage the player to risk going into fights with low hp, and losing more often, as that’s a major requirement of accessing content. You’ll still heal to full health after a defeat though. If you want to avoid losing and gaining depravity, there’s a purity skill that increases healing charges up to 75% health instead.

There are other less important changes, but this “long version” of changes is pretty long already, so I’ll skim over those. Minor skill balancing changes, generally reduced enemy exp (as you can level up with femininity now), and some balance changes to enemies as well (generally buffs).
