(NSFW image below.) By casually, I mean without them committing to working with me each month. I’ll just request scenes as their availability and my budget allow. I have an artist in mind—I’ll add a sample of their artwork below—who I spoke to before. They were interested in doing commissions for the game, but didn’t want to dedicate monthly slots to it, so I passed them up as a permanent artist, but I think they would be great for scenes with non-recurring characters.

From my perspective, the pros are more artwork, and more flexibility in who I commission. By having them work with me casually, I obviously need no long-term commitment from them, but it also means they don’t need to be open to all of the different fetishes this game involves. If there’s a scene they don’t want to do, I can just have someone else do it.

The only con I can think of is that it introduces another art style into the game’s artwork, and some people may be bothered by inconsistency with the artwork. So, would you be bothered by inconsistency with the artwork? If I do this, I would only involve them with characters that have a limited number of scenes, and no plans for further ones. This is mostly dungeon enemies like the Orc’s or the Lamia’s, and dungeon events. This ensures individual characters have consistent art styles, so Katie won’t look different from scene to scene, for example.

Also keep in mind that an additional artist will be required no matter what if we ever hope to have all the scenes in game drawn, as I write sex scenes much faster than I believe any artist can draw. If you want to minimize differences in art styles though, I can wait until the budget can fully support another artist working on the project long term, but again, that will limit my choices somewhat.

I think creating a official logo for the game would be a smart way to go about it. Then you can have a ingame version with or without one in a corner of the art piece, and high resolution patreon versions. Most Patreon funded games do it this way these days. And as long as its "Branded" as a official art, the style change will not bother people that much.

I forgot, I wanted to add a caveat to my vote (I got distracted...) anyway, I am fine with having multiple artists as long as it doesn't get excessive. 1,2, or even 3 different styles is okay to me. What's not okay is every scene is a totally different style (looking at you roundscape...) that's far too much. Ideally the artists at least try to match a common theme/style. At least some consistencies in the character's representation

The results are pretty heavily in favor of an additional artist, so I will probably be commissioning from the artist I had in mind soon. Of course, shortly after I made this poll, I saw they were going on a small break for commissions, so I won't be able to do so right away. I think perhaps I'll look for a group of scenes I'd like to do in one of the dungeons, and request commissions in that vein, so that the artwork that is of a different style will be grouped together, so you won't be pin-balling back and forth between styles. I will also present samples of current artwork to them, so it may match up with the other artists better.
