As an Augmented -- humans possessing Heterophage-enhanced physical and mental abilities -- she, and others like her, are treated as third-class citizens of the Directorate. They are seen as less than human, yet exploited for their talents.

When her friend, Jibly, nearly overdoses on a bad batch of a ubiquitous drug called Gronk, Angel takes matters into her own hands and hunts down the local Gronk Dealer who sold Jibly the batch. A fight ensues between Angel and the Gronk dealer's hired muscle. Angel uses her unbelievable physique to bring the fight to an explosive, head-bursting end. Then, she confronts the sleazy drug pedaler and deals out her own special barbiturate.
