TOTK RANDOMIZER UPDATE NOTES - v0.6.1

New:

  • SEMI-KEY FEATURE: Zonai monk text announcements for Random Enemy Spawn and Prohibition events no longer block the ability to open menus. I understand how annoying this was, so I invested around 80 hours in total to change that, creating new and tweaking existing core game logic.
  • There is now a chance for manual Teleports to be randomized. Manual Teleports include going into and outside of Shrines, as well as the Map Teleportation. Note that abusing this feature to easily get anywhere in a short period of time is not possible/has been nerfed.

Additions:

  • Enemies can now spawn randomly in Caves.
  • Added 4 Random Enemy Spawn groups (Aerocudas, Evermeans, Gibdos, Stone Taluses).
  • Added 10 Goals (10 Defeat).
  • Added 25 Items (12 Schema Stones, 10 Yiga Schematics, 3 Specials).
  • Added 24 Teleport Locations (12 Shrines, 12 Overworld Shrines).

Changes:

  • Randomly placed enemies are now more reliable and appear faster after their activation.
  • Enemies from the original game that are placed randomly now have more possible spawn points.
  • 3 Random Enemy Spawn groups can now be active at the same time (before 2).
  • Increased the chance for Random Enemy Spawn events to trigger.
  • Zonai monk text announcements for Random Enemy Spawn and Prohibition events no longer block the ability to open menus.
  • Schema Stones and Yiga Schematics are now randomized and have been added to the common Item pool.
  • Exchanged the "Saving, Teleporting and Shrines are now disabled" Prohibition with "Teleporting is now disabled".
  • When checking your goals in Goal Mode upon entering the Final Battle, the text dialogue box will properly close now.
  • Increased the chance to obtain the Zora Armor to make it more likely that players can get to the Water Temple and progress the Zora Main Quest more easily earlier on.
  • Lowered the amount range for defeating Silver enemies and small Chuchus in Goal Mode.

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed a bug that prevented Animals, Enemies and miscellaneous objects from the normal game to not spawn randomly, or at least, not as often and reliable.
  • Restored a bugfix that has been lost with a previous update that prevents Teleports out of nowhere to occur when being in Proving Grounds Shrines in order to not lose your equipment permanently.

Optimizations:

  • Heavily optimized the code for the Random Enemy Spawn and Prohibition Zonai monk text announcements. No more (micro-)stuttering upon triggering, plus way more efficient.
  • Removed unnecessary code.
  • General code optimization.
  • Saved multiple MB in memory usage due to heavy RSTB optimization.
